Are there any teachers you had in school, grades 1-12, who had a significant impact on you life? Either good or bad?

Tell us about them if you can.

I can honestly say, most of my teachers have had a positive influence on my life. Influences that stay with me even now. A lot of that is more hindsight than what I thought at the time I was their student. Some of them, I think more highly of now than I did then.

I had one impact my life in a big way, she failed me in the third grade.

I couldn't vote. I can only think of one teacher whom had any impact at all. The rest were Useless public school teachers.

One teacher though. Phd. History, University of Michigan. You learned History, NOT revision history. He constantly butted heads with all the propaganda lib teachers. Plus we learned University of Michigan History. He had a lot of fun goofing on kids who's parents went too MS Whoo, ....from that, I have become a life long and never die, Big Blue Man...win or lose, I bleed blue.

1st grade teacher was a senile old crazy bitch who put me down for being able to read at a 3rd grade level or higher.
2nd grade teacher i had a crush on. found out during summer break her husband went nuts and killed her and himself. effected me a bit.
had the same teacher for the 5th and 6th grades. he was an outright ASSHOLE. whacked me with a paddle 3 times because i refused to square dance. and then did nothing when i was harrassed for months by other students for not joining in the bible club he organized.
my 8th and 9th grade science teacher was an absolute FOX. sexy, hot, and beautiful. made learning fun and lots of fantasies.
10th grade biology teacher was funny. he was drunk most of the time. and had one eye that looked away from where the other was directed.

Significant impact? No. I liked some and disliked others but none of them made a huge difference in my life.

I agree with KRC. There were a few I liked, and a number that I didn't, but I don't think any of them had a significant impact on my life in either a positive or negative way.

Yes, my metal shop teacher who was also my wrestling coach.

Teaching you to read & write had no impact on your life?

Two teachers had a major impact.
The first was while I was in Catholic primary school. A nun called Sister Bosco. Bitch of a woman, drunk on the power of the Lord, who dished out punishment like a dominatrix. She broke a wooden bannister brush on my brother's ass because he had an accident that meant an ambulance needed to be called. While beating him, my brother was bleeding all over the fucking quadrangle. I have hated nuns ever since.
The second was a science teacher in high school who had polio as a child. He had a skinny leg and walked funny, and most of the kids hated him. But he taught me that science could be fun, and he always took the time to explain everything to me in a way that made me easily understand. His mantra was 'Any day that you learn something new is a good day.' I still use that now, 30 yrs later.

4th grade teacher was cross eyed and never wore underwear with his skin tight white pants.

6th grade teacher was a black woman and she taught all about African American rights, slavery, what it meant to be a black person in the 70's. I don't think I would have had the impact it did had I been taught the same subject from a white teacher.

7th grade social studies teacher was a fiery older man from Lithuania. His passion about civics was well received.

I think every female gym coach I had was very butch, and I had 4 different ones.

Loved 11th grade Mythology class, but it being directly after lunch and the teacher spoke in a monotone voice that I was always fighting to not fall asleep in class.

Swim/polo/science teacher was a typical Cali surfer dude and HOT HOT HOT. Rumor was he bedded a few senior girls.

Weightlifting teacher had a killer physique and I was the only girl in the class...good memories.

The question was specifically about teachers. I assumed the OP meant teachers that were special. The things I learned in school obviously had an impact, but specific teachers not so much.

My 8th grade French teacher has the nicest ass I had ever seen. She would walk down the rows of desks speaking her kooky language.

Oh yeah.

I had some good teachers, a few bad ones, and one or two great ones. Honestly, though, I probably owe more to my grandfather than any teacher. He's the one who taught me how to read by reading the newspaper to me as a child, and he taught me how to count by using playing cards. He also taught me some life lessons, like not to judge a person by their color and to learn something new every day.

He would have made an awesome teacher.

I remember a couple anecdotal stories about some of my teachers but it was my mom who sat with me for countless hours teaching me how to read and write and understand what my math teacher was 'trying' to say. I wouldn't have made it very far without my mom being heavily involved and aware of my educational needs.

Most of them were great. I remember all of them... not that I would post that here!!! However, they all made some impact on me. Most of it positive and I hope to make the same impact someday.

I had a couple drill instructors that taught me not to quit or complain or throw up or have something out of place or fail a pt test or well, you get the idea. They left an impression. Not entirely sure it was a good one.

I suppose it all boils down to the times and place(s) you went to school.

My 9th, then 11th grade English teacher was a feisty, tough as nails old gal with a heart of gold. A tough, unrelenting taskmaster that never gave away good scores - you earned them. Social status meant nothing to her. Everyone was the same in her eyes. Everyone loved her.

My 10th grade English teacher was a snotty, sour bitch who looked down upon anyone she considered poor white trash, or Latino and African American. She rarely, if ever, focused on teaching us anything. She expected us to just open a book and know it. Never seen the bitch smile at anyone, unless she thought your parents reeked of money or lived in a 'respectable' neighborhood.

All my shop teachers were pretty cool.

One of my 2nd grade teachers was my first crush. She let me down gently when I asked her to marry me.

My 8th grade Science teacher and the girls basketball coach, did not seem to like me one iota when she was my teacher. All the boys drooled over her. She was hawt as hell and continued to be hawt until I last seen her into her late 40s. I was clear I hated basketball as much as she hated baseball. My 12th grade Xmas break, our first torrid sexual fling lasted about a week. Then again 3 years later for 3 days straight. Me home on leave from the Navy, when we met by sheer coincidence in a plush motel bar/restaurant. Our last 'encounter' was a threesome with another woman teacher I had never met until then. She never failed to remind me, every other hour, how pissed she was the time I sent a frog flying across the classroom on fire. (How was I to know it would land in her lap? I thought the gas burner was turned off.)

Most of my history teachers were wonderful. No matter what grade. There was one who constantly expressed regret the US did not totally pulverize Japan in WWII. And he was just plain 'weird'. Early one morning, I went into the boys room a few minutes before my 1st class. He came bursting out of one of the stalls practically begging me not to tell anyone. I did not know he was masturbating until he came out of the stall. For some reason, he seemed to think I was his favorite 'buddy'. I never mentioned it to anyone until after HS.
