Maybe it was a baby's head. That would explain the peach fuzz look to the hair and the softness of the skull.

As a vegetarian, I find your salad suggestion utterly repugnant.

Maybe I'd think differently if the baby had suffered severe brain trauma and had been legally declared a vegetable prior to salad preparation.

If it helps, there's rarely any brain activity once the head has been harvested. If you leave it out long enough you can get sundried baby head, which should be close enough to a vegetable, yes?

I don't know if you ever saw the Alien movies, but if you look at stills of the face hugger you will see that the center of the "palm" looks a bit like a pussy. A little disturbing.

Alien series has always been very sexual.

Part of the psychosis behind the monsters is that in the first movie, they are all tough manly men (and one tough manly woman) doing manly space-things when the alien comes on board.

The alien RAPES it's offspring into the tough manly men, if it's removed, the host dies, and the host dies as the offspring CHESTRAPES it's way back out.

Over and over again. Space marines, Hardened criminals, Space Pirates, it's always tough manly men getting their asses handed to them and their mouths raped by a monster. It's about removing masculinity, and making men helpless.

The message got a little turned around in the sequels, but by the fourth movie, it was back strong.

That is a model of the Ripley-xenomorph hybrid from the fourth Alien movie. The directer purposefully wanted the crotch to look like a violent and disturbing mixture of a penis and a vulva. The producers ended up cutting and editing so in the movie you never get a good look at it, but here it is for your viewing pleasure.

The Alien franchise has always been about sex, rape, and loss of power.
