Greetings and Salutations

I am seeking someone to advise me as a new writer, with some of my stories, as yet unseen by anyone.

My work can best be described as erotic fantasies in short story / chapter format, each chapter can stand alone, but can be brought together to form a book based on a single female lead chariter.

My main problem is that being dyslexic, i can re-read my work 100 times, and not see errors. and they are such that even most spell checkers miss them.

My stories are straight fantasy.... no incest, bondage, rape or anything like that, but they do explore the mastabatory fantasies of my lead.

I can supply a completed sample via google-doc share if anyone would like to check my work before stepping forwards.

I'm looking for a female editor preferably as my stories are written for mainly female readers.

Please ask any questions before deciding to help.

Here to help :)

Hi WoodyTheWise,

I'd be more than happy to have a look at your work if you have yet to find an editor. Is the story under the erotic couplings category or another? Also when you say the chapters can be read alone is that the structure you are going for - a kind of 'chronicles' story which follows the main character. Alternatively does each chapter just describe a different event in one continuous story? The only reason I ask is because I think it is important to establish the structure of a story to ensure that it flows and doesn't sound disjointed when read.

To get an idea, of where i'm coming from, the chapters follow Abigail, through a 12 month period and while not written as a diary, do flow from one chapter into another.

An Chapter has been adapted and has now been posted on the story section, here is the link

Another thing to consider.

I see that your location is England. Are you writing in UK English or American English? That's something important to mention in your request as some editors might want to "correct" your spelling of some words when they don't need to be.

One piece of advice I can give you: Make sure that the editor you choose have a firm grasp of UK English and that he/she/it knows that the difference between the two (American vs UK) is much more than a simple question of different spelling. Both form of English have a different "flavour and it would be easy for an editor to wreck your story just because they don't understand your "flavour".

Yes I am UK based, and have already noticed from friends (Australian, American and English), that they sometimes find the sentence structure to be strange.

I have also found that when i've tried Grammar checkers, they tend to find 'English' English to be 'archaic', So sometime find conflict that need 'resolving', while English friend state it is not archaic, but more to do with the upbringing of a good education (even though I am dyslexic).
