Well Perg, one should always walk with head held high and with an energized step. Heavens, this advice was probably first printed in some magazine back in the sixties. It totally makes sense. Be confident, basically. right?

Elan.

Indeed. Indicates fitness as well.

Funny you should say that. That's sort of what I was thinking, about one of my friends here.

This thread also reminds me of studies done many years ago on "victimization".
It seems that a predator walking down a sidewalk is more inclined to sucker-punch and rob the person who is walking slunched over, looking down at the ground.

Those who walk erect and make eye contact are less likely to be preyed upon.

crazy stuff, but these types of studies always seem to settle on the same thing. confidence.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that parallel. There's also this:

‘The discerning observer may infer women's experience of vaginal orgasm from a gait that comprises fluidity, energy, sensuality, freedom, and absence of both flaccid and locked muscles.

My confidence thing has always been to look people straight in the eye as I'm walking past.
I also generally have a Great Dane with me when I'm out and about.

Hah! WarriorQueen , I'm not so sure which is more intimidating...the Great Dane or YOU!

You always seem a strong and confident one to me, from the posts I've read. Good on ya!

It'll be that "I'm going to vomit any time now" stagger we've grown to expect.

any respectible woman knows how to vomit in her own purse without being detected.

They teach this skill in most sororities.

I imagine it's whatever the ambient temperature is, more or less.

That's very effective, too. Both of those things, though I don't know that the dog would make me any more or less interested in you.

The great dane is a bloody big softy
Wouldn't hurt a fly!
Sleeps with the cat - CadburyCat is like a blanky to him.
