NYC plans ban on big sizes of sugary drinks

You know where fructose is found, right?

To be fair, they ate a lot of meat.

Three times a week according to Paddy O'Brian. Lime juice, however, every day to prevent the scurvy. One of the most devastating military innovations of all time.

These days, mainly in sodas or other "sugary" drinks. Beet that.:)
Uh...there's this stuff you may have heard of called "fruit?"

Right, yes. I was thinking of O'Brian, of course. I ordered that cookbook for Lady P, but it got misconskewed or something and never showed up.

What could possibly be the legal reason to prevent people from buying big drinks? "Because government knows whats best?"

It would be making the sale illegal. Not the purchase. You say potato and all....

Fact is tho that if government said "fuck you all eat up piggies we don't care" the shitstorm would be bigger, no?

The appearance of proactivity. For a good "cause".

So its merely elected officials pandering to extremists crying out for government to save us from ourselves?

You say extremist agenda... I say keep the sugar away from the 200lb 10 yr old.

Am I wrong because the kid is ridin the fast train to heart attack town by age 25?

It is way to easy to scream "My Rights! My Rights!" nowadays. No common sense. Its just as wrong to let fat young Johnny fill his face with burritos.

NY state tried to have a 1 cent tax on "high fructose corn syrup" drinks a few years ago. It was beat down by the soda lobby, though the "fruit" drink people did help.

I'm starting to think that Bloomberg wants to take NYC into its own statehood.

I'm not fat, I'm just big-boned.

You do NOT fuck with the corn lobby in the US.

Big difference in a 10 year old, and a 40 year old.

You want to make a law that says kids cant buy pop, maybe I could see that. But treating an adult, who is making a personal decision like a child too ignorant to decide for themselves crosses my big government line.
