Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who just turned 28 this week, wrote a frank letter to potential investors to affirm the company's social mission even as it prepares to ask Wall Street for billions. Zuckerberg said, "[Facebook] was built to accomplish a social mission—to make the world more open and connected."

Not every investor will be eligible to purchase Facebook stock tomorrow. Most of the big underwriters have minimal account requirements that must be met to place a buy during the IPO phase.

"Most shares will go to big institutional investors or wealthy brokerage customers instead of retail investors," reports the Los Angeles Times.

If you believe that, I've got a bridge for sale.

oh whoopie doo, the olympic torch is only about an hour away. deep joy.

If experience is any guide, sit back and wait for higher taxes— that's in addition to the hassle of congestion and hordes of gawkers.

If any boomer ever succeeds in making my home the seat of the Olympic Games, I will personally shoot the sombitch.

Not sure what your post has to do with the rest of the thread, but I really freaking hate it when people push in front of everyone to get on the bus or subway, and then stand there at the front, blocking the entrance. Just thinking about it pisses me off.

The mothers with strollers not as much, but the people wearing huge backpacks or just standing in the middle of the aisle.

One of my favorite subway moments: I was riding in my usual spot, leaning back against one of the doors. We got to a station, I moved to the side to let a woman on. She had a couple of bags, so I said "hold on, I'll give you some more room" and stepped out of the train to let her on.

She took one step in and planted herself in front of the door.

People with no transit etiquette definitely irritate the hell out of me as well. Move to the back of the bus, fuck nuts!

And don't sit on the inside seat when the outside seat is empty, that's a real jack-ass move.
