Good News Sunday: Apple-y Ever After!

Very cool! They are opening their first store in Japan in a couple of weeks, I am going to let the fuss die down before heading over for some delicious ice cream. :)

Well bugger. Unless I'm willing to fly interstate for some ice cream, I guess I've gotta wait for a business trip or something before I can support these guys. Ah well, it's still cool.

... Damn, I want ice cream now... :D

I like what they do with pieces though. I like pieces in my ice cream, chunks or whatever. Other places don't put nearly enough bits in their ice cream, but Ben & Jerry's has a lot. I like it.

Okay, I'll agree with that. I like their Rocky Road (or whatever they call it) for that reason. Do they have a Mint Chocolate Chip?

Yep, it's Mint Chocolate Cookie, with bits of Oreo rather than chip flake things. It's goooood. And not dyed green!

But I just want chocolate chips. Also, I like it dyed green.

So basically what you're saying is Ben & Jerry are going out of their way to piss me off.

Yes, dude. Obviously Ben & Jerry's entire marketing plan and product selection guidelines are based on the principles of "What would piss John Doe off most".

You found them out. Congratulations. Now STFU and eat your ice cream.

I know.

Just wait until he finds out where the cow was keeping the stuff his ice cream was made out of. He's really gonna be pissed then cuz even the freakin farm animals are plotting against him.

:whispers: they sell it in the grocery.

And another thing. I'm not crazy about corporations exploiting social issues for profit.

Yes, because it is SO much better to keep social issues in the closet, so they never see the light of day! Gawd forbid they get noticed from all the free advertising.

We can deal with our own social issues just fine. We don't need corporations for publicity or anything else regarding social issues. Corporations' only true purpose is to provide a product or service and turn a profit. Anything else they do is only in support of that.

And I disagree that it's free advertising. The cost just isn't monetary. That's all. I think corporate involvement in social and other public issues does more harm than good.
