Boxer Manny Pacquiao is opposed to gay marriage.

Ho-hum. Just another person weighing in on the issue of the day.

But wait, this is interesting:

The Grove LA, a popular shopping centre, tweeted that Pacquiao is no longer welcome there :

"The Grove LA is a gathering place for all Angelenos, not a place for intolerance."

See, they just won't tolerate Pacquiao's intolerance.

Next week, The Grove LA is going to come out in favor of Free Speech.

For people who agree with them, of course.

Ah, irony. Needs a little more starch.

They TOLERATE only what they TOLERATE

Others they DONT TOLERATE

But they SHRIEK TOLERANCE

I don't care what he thinks and I certainly don't care what some shopping center thinks about what he thinks.

Why the lie? You could have been perfectly honest when it came to this story and still made your point. Instead, you're trying to slant it.

He's not "just another person" - he's a major celeb. And it wasn't just a "weighing in" - the suggestion was that Pacquiao referenced Leviticus 20:13, which is a particularly violent opposition to gays.

Getting banned at The Grove for what he supposedly said is ridiculous anyhow. So, why the bullshit? Learning from FOX News?

Seems silly to apply free speech to someone who isn't a U.S. citizen.

Perhaps, but I don't think so.

It is "the law of the land", and applies to anyone who is in the country.

If someone uses it to say something stupid, the stupidity will eventually become clear. In Pacquiao's case, that didn't take long.

A boxer may be "a major celeb" to you, to me he is just another person.

And he was just weighing in, in a very stupid fashion. Not remarkably so, sadly. This topic seems to bring out the extremism in a lot of people.

Personally, if I ran The Grove, I'd have invited him to come and publicly defend his views against those of a few people with the opposite view. Intelligent, articulate and dignified people of the opposite view, not the kind of idiots who think debates are won by whoever shouts loudest longest.

Who knows, they may be able to change his (alleged) mind.

THAT would be an accomplishment.
