What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

we can still terminate another 40% of all government workers. funny thing, we wouldn't see a difference in "service" levels. all that this would do is require them government workers to "work" and take less breaks.

granted, donuts shops would be hurting as government workers would be forced to stay in the office and do "work"

I know government workers are allergic to "work" but hey, time that they sucked it up and stopped screwing the tax payer

This is the best post ever!

So then you really do blame Obama for the recession, even though it began in 2007 immediately following 6 years of all-Republican administration.

Having fun with Breitbart links today, are we? :rolleyes:

I now pronounce you the most stupidest person on planet Earth

Hey clown, the last two years of the Bush administration and the first two years of the Obama administration, the Democrats owned Congress, so factor that into your bullshit.

The housing market collapse and foreclosure crisis began in late 2006, bro. Can you tell me which party controlled all branches of government in 2006 and for the half-dozen years prior to that?

After WWII Harry Truman fired 10 million federal employees. Yes we can!

I'm waiting for the left wing asshats to come back with "where will these people work"

isn't it sad and scarey that government people are unqualified to work in the private sector?

yeah, that's when the problem started.

queen asshat

No it didn't. It started long before, as has been pointed out to you numerous occasions.

Yes, it did start in 2006. Its causes go back further, but the collapse itself began in 2006.

You asked me to factor in the fact that there was a democratic legislature in '07-'08 to the collapse that started in '06. Kind of a funny question. Not sure it can be answered without re-writing history.

Nothing that has occurred since 2007 can be attributed to a single piece of Republican legislation, own it.

Are you really this stupid?

In 2003 the Republicans passed the American Dream Downpayment Initiative Act. It put people in homes who had low, unstable incomes and couldn't even afford to pay their own closing costs, much less a down payment.

How quickly you forget your own party's Ownership Society philosophy. That was a massive GOP philosophy in the mid 2000's. Then once it turned out to have fueled the foreclosure crisis not a peep was ever heard about it again. It just... didn't happen!

The party of personal responsibility, ladies and gentlemen. Ducking for cover from their own political platform.

That's not true though.

Oh don't worry. I've given Vette a list of Republican housing policies that contributed to the crisis. He responds by disputing absolutely none of them, then coming back a couple weeks later and pretending he was never schooled on the subject.

I told you it started before 2006. You've already been schooled on this in detail. The last time I believe by and ever patient Ishmael. Read about it here again and recall the Community Reinvestment Act:

I have no use for conservative anti-Barney Frank opinion pieces.

The housing market collapse began in 2006 because that's when foreclosures began to spike and valuations peaked and then began their swift decline. What better year do you have to mark the start of the collapse if not that?

Talking to yourself again?

Nope, talking to you. But you choose to ignore facts that are contrary to what you choose to religiously believe.

From the Bush White House in 2004:

Expanding Homeownership. The President believes that homeownership is the cornerstone of America's vibrant communities and benefits individual families by building stability and long-term financial security. In June 2002, President Bush issued America's Homeownership Challenge to the real estate and mortgage finance industries to encourage them to join the effort to close the gap that exists between the homeownership rates of minorities and non-minorities. The President also announced the goal of increasing the number of minority homeowners by at least 5.5 million families before the end of the decade. Under his leadership, the overall U.S. homeownership rate in the second quarter of 2004 was at an all time high of 69.2 percent. Minority homeownership set a new record of 51 percent in the second quarter, up 0.2 percentage point from the first quarter and up 2.1 percentage points from a year ago. President Bush's initiative to dismantle the barriers to homeownership includes:

American Dream Downpayment Initiative, which provides down payment assistance to approximately 40,000 low-income families;
Affordable Housing. The President has proposed the Single-Family Affordable Housing Tax Credit, which would increase the supply of affordable homes;
Helping Families Help Themselves. The President has proposed increasing support for the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunities Program; and
Simplifying Homebuying and Increasing Education. The President and HUD want to empower homebuyers by simplifying the home buying process so consumers can better understand and benefit from cost savings. The President also wants to expand financial education efforts so that families can understand what they need to do to become homeowners.

If it was the Democrats in 2004 who escorted low-income minorities into $0 down payment homes that they then defaulted on, you'd be crying bloody fucking murder. But it was Republicans so that's okay! In fact there's nothing to see here! Not a single Republican policy contributed to the foreclosure crisis!

I'm kicking the shit out of you here Vette. Better post something good really fast.

Barney Frank hates American housewives as he can never be one but I'm sure he dresses the part quite nicely
