Please feel free to direct me if this is covered elsewhere. Without going into my life story, how common is it to desire a physical sex change without having the real desire to totally change one's life? When I read about sex changes all I find is those desiring a total transformation. In a m2f that includes becoming feminine, getting hormones, breasts and living as a woman before surgery.

I find my long term desire would be to simply (none of it is simple!) have my male plumbing gone and changed to female. I like my life, don't want to live as a woman, don't need breasts- I just want to know I have a pussy, not a cock. I know some kind of hormone therapy would be needed after surgery but what else is there standing in the way?

Sexually, I like sex with men and woman and seem masculine and don't want to be feminine.

Thoughts?

You are not alone, in fact. A lot of people are thinking about ways to change their sexual apparatus without quite changing their sex. Myself, I used to identify as FTM, but these days, for a variety of reasons, I am not so sure. I have wanted "my penis back," so to speak, all of my life however, and if I were thirty years younger I would start HRT.

But in practical terms for you-- there are I think doctors who have a more advanced notion of gender than the male/female binary. Finding them-- I am not so sure how to go about that.

What I do know is that MTF bottom surgery is extremely invasive, and the resulting vagina needs constant support -- it needs to be stretched, and kept open, and it needs the female hormones to keep the intereior membranes supple-- otherwise they turn into thin skin that will tear far too easily. You are fighting a constant battle against your body's insistance that this is not natural, even if you are taking hormone replacement therapy. Also, the clitoral rebuild isn't always successful, as far as the nerves go. Some trans women-- and trans men too-- pretty much lose all sexual sensation. Which, fuuuuuck.

That's one of the reasons that I don't think I could go all the way. I wish I could, in a perfect world, I would, but just too many risks. I'd like to go the rest of the way, though.

Maybe in my next life, I'll be born in the right body....

Another Option?

How about an orchiectomy of both testicles and a labiaplasty with the scrotum underneath my cock? Men have their balls removed for other health reasons and leave the scrotum empty, put in prosthetic balls or have the scrotum removed, don't they?

If I don't want the trouble of a full reassignment surgery, this could seem like the best of both worlds. Any thoughts or knowledge of a procedure like this?

I've never heard of such a thing. It sounds like perfect fodder for smut, but I don't think it exists in real life.
