I have traveled the US extensively, Canada and Mexico well enough to extend my travels farther abroad. I would take four, one-year trips or hey, one trip that lasts four years. I'm flexible, I could make either work. If I could leave tomorrow I would start with:

Europe and such: Greece, Italy, Monaco, Switzerland, France (just because), The UK (London, Scotland, Isle of Man, Ireland (all of it ).

Down-under - yes, under-there: Australia, New Zealand

South America: Brazil - Rio de Janeiro

Bering Seas: Aleutian Islands

I'd stick to the coasts as much as possible.

If I had unlimited resources?

I'd do a self-guided tour through all the old castles of the British Isles. I'd take the time to do research on each fable, myth, story associated with them. It would take months, years even!

I'd go back the UK. I went there when I was 18 and would love to go back. Who knows, maybe some day????

I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively - Europe, N America, Japan, Korea, Balkans. I would probably go with Brazil, Argentina, China, Australia or Russia as places I would like to visit. Oh and India would be cool as well.

If I had the resources, I'd go everywhere.

Within slightly more reason, Lady P and I were talking at dinner about buying a Land Rover and driving the length of the Silk Road, from the coast of China to Istanbul. Unfortunately, for some bits of that trip, we might also need a small army to keep us safe.

I'd also really like to spend a year or so wandering around Africa, and another year or so in South America.

When I was younger and a skier, I could always think of more mountains to go ski.

When I paddled whitewater rivers, there were always more rivers I wanted to paddle.

Now I'm too old for all that. It's all I can do to get a round of golf in once a week without killing my back. I don't have any regular partners or family to go to a lot of places.

It's kind of sad, really. Thank goodness I lived in Colorado for nearly 30 years. That was a vacation almost every day.

I would love to go back to Easter Island - I was only 15 when we went, and I did not fully appreciate where I was.
Also on that list would be... revisiting the Galapagos, Machu Pichu and walking the Great Wall.
