Who remembers the 'NewSpeak' language in the novel 1984? It was designed by the totalitarian 'Big Brother' regime to reduce the language of the Proles to such a basic level (Doubleplusungood) that coherent thoughts could not be expressed and conceivably threaten the regime.

This 'PCSpeak' is fiction become reality. Shall we ban the words 'white' and 'black' from our vocabularies; and 'yellow', 'brown', 'tan' and 'red' as well? The mainstream press has done this already in case you haven't noticed. Read any news article about a crime being committed and unless the perp's 'white' his/her race isn't mentioned. They may post a picture if they feel like it.

Further, people of mixed racial lineage are whatever race the media cares to portray them. Therefore Obama's 'black', George Zimmerman's 'white'; well, you get the picture.

All this 'PC Language' claptrap's just another way of dividing the races instead of unifying them and dumbing down the English language to boot.

TE is right on. Oh, wait, can I use that word? Or is Right and Left to become unacceptable in our discourse because of it's political ramifications? Oh god, is ramifications to strong a word to use in this context?

PCSpeech is unacceptable in MHO, it should be relegated to where it belongs, in the trash bin of the society that invented it.

The PC movement is a reaction to words like "kike" "nigger" "gook" "faggot" "bimbo" ad nauseum, words that most certainly divided and the races, and dumbed down the privileged folk who used them so casually. Those words allowed a lot of people the luxury of not thinking about the human beings around them.

For a couple hundred years, the people so designated had no power to protest those denigrations at all. Now they do, you're seeing a hellacious backlash. You might consider it excessive, but the fact that it is excessive ought to tell you something about the depths of the festering anger that so many people have lived with.
