 DERP!

Why are you even trying to compare this when you know Obama was handed the Great Recession just as it was about to bottom out?

The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for February was revised from
+240,000 to +259,000, and the change for March was revised from +120,000 to
+154,000.

I see the BLS put 19k more jobs on Feb's report and 34k more jobs onto March's "Oh no! Obama hates jobs" report. Why aren't Republicans talking about this?

53k more jobs over the past two months factored into the unemployment rate dropping this month.

I got my yearly average unemployment numbers from the BLS website.

Where did you get your numbers from?

You're both right. You're using monthly and yearly data.

And it's silly to blame any president for unemployment in their first year because it's nothing more than a reflection of the previous administration's policies.

I love how the crowd that demands everyone see their pastel nuanced arguments have a black hat, white hat mentality when it comes to a nuance of a bolder hue...

Everyone who disagrees with Obama is a Republican.

I guess it's similar to how there are no Socialists to be found on the Left; there must be no Libertarians among us...

Does this sound "Republican?"

A_J's corollary #14, “The Modern Moderate/Conservative is defined by the enthusiasm, and self-congratulatory cries of ‘reasonable,” displayed in taking up a position held by the New Age Liberal after they have abandoned that hard-won cultural victory for one even more to the Left.”

So basically you got your ass handed to you on your goofy tax hike argument and you have no evidence that shows you're a libertarian.

Well if you want to get all technical and shit, no president or congress are to blame for any recession or growth in the economy. It will run in cycles regardless of their incompetence. They (fed, president, congress) can smooth/shorten/enhance booms as well as recession through policy but that is about it. I argue that Carters inept housing policies made the recession worse, Regan's polices helped bring us out of it faster, and both Bush and Obam's policies have made the current economy worse than it had to be. I could write a 1000 word thesis on this but still not prove it 100% to people with blinders on. I have a dual master degree in economics and finance and a CFA..... So while I read everyone arguments and consider them if they so warrant.....I doubt anyone on this site is smart enough to change my mind.

I agree with you on a lot of that. But I'd like to grab a bucket of popcorn and watch you try to convince Ishmael, who says that the answer is simple: Obama hates America.

I do not argue politics with him....***** is easier that way.

at the same time, I also know he does not simplify it that way in real life, but for some reason he does so enjoy fucking with people here......

You know Ish in rl?

.......

But a whole lot of it depends on congress. The GOP filibustered a huge portion of Obama's economic policy and then turned about and said "see, Obama's economic policies weren't effective".

to your edit:

Yes, there is very little to judge Obama on. But the few things he has managed to do have hurt IMO. others may say they helped, but even in hindsight proving it one way or the other would be hard. I also blame him for what the Fed has done, but I am fair in that, as I blame every president for what the Fed does/does not do under their watch. To think any president does not pull the feds strings is naive at best

So you think things like the stimulus, extending unemployment benefits, the payroll tax cut, etc have not just been ineffective, but actually hurt the economy?

But hey, Romney promises 500k jobs per month!

FLASHBACK: Biden predicts 500,000 jobs each month “some time in the next couple of months.” “This was two years ago. How’s that coming along, Joe?”

Joke ByeDumb, as big a NIGGER as is NIGGERPOOP and NIGGERWIFEand NIGGERPOONZANDI

I think every QE was extremely detrimental. I think his budget proposals should have been drawn in crayon, I think his health care plan is unrealistic, and I could go on and on...but in the end:

it is all about the misuse of the stimulus:

Obama used deficit spending to stimulate the economy.
•FY 2012:$3.7 trillion spending, creating a $1.09 trillion deficit
•FY 2011: $3.8 trillion spending creating a deficit of $1.3 trillion.
•FY 2010: Spending $3.8 trillion, and creating a deficit of $1.6 trillion.
•FY 2009: Added stimulus spending to the Bush budget, creating a deficit of $1.4 trillion

Have you ever seen were all the money above actually went?
( and yes, I know a lot of the waste was by senators and congressmen (from both sides of the aisle) , lobbying for their states, their donors, their pet projects, ..... But it was Obamas job to stop them and he did not

Okay but are you going to answer the question?

Also, you realize that the spending you're holding Obama accountable for is driven largely by rising medicare/medicaid cost (the baby boomers started hitting it hard) that he has almost no control over, right?

The next biggest item is defense, which Republicans erupt in this huge outrage whenever he so much as mentions cutting back on.

Ok... I have no issues with payroll tax or extending the unemployment benefits, but also deem them inconsequential and pure political plays. The only issue I had with your question was stimulus and I addressed that. So do you think the stimulus was use correctly and helped more than the deficit it created hurts?

You're changing the question I asked. Your original comment was that Obama's economic policies hurt the economy. So I asked how the stimulus hurt the economy.

Is your position that the stimulus hurt the economy or that it helped? Because if you say it helped then you've changed your position in the last few posts.

You asked me what policies hurt, naming three examples, and I addressed the stimulus and others that you did not mention. You bitched that I did not address payroll or unemployment so I did. At no point did my position on stimulus change. At this point you are avoiding my questions.
