I find Sankrit can be ominous depending no the tamber and fluidity at which the verses are spoken.
It's all about the speaker, IMHO. Once you've heard obsequious waiters and long-winded professors go on in German, it doesn't sound so dominant. The right person can make French sound menacing.
No way. Japanese as spoken by a man.
I used to make my Japanese friend giggle and turn red and cover her face with her hand by barking what very little Japanese I knew at her in the most peremptory tone possible. "You sound like yakuza!" she'd say.
Made me think of this. Klingon mating ritual.
Oh lord no. I am surrounded by Japanese-speaking men the instant I step out my front door, and I have never thought they sounded dominant. Today I noticed one of the male storefront shills was trying to do the female storefront shill voice, over in Harajuku. That was mindboggling. The female voice is shrill and nasal, and I swear that's what he was going for. Horrific, I tell you!
Every time I hear spoken Japanese, it makes "please pass the salt" sound like "kill all the prisoners and burn the town to the foundations"...but I guess I get all my Japanese from war and gangster movies, not real life.
You would be disappointed here, then! Because I don't understand Japanese, I get a good sense of the tone without the distraction of the meaning, and I haven't picked out a single Japanese dom.![]()
Are they a pervy race generally? What about chikans, otakus, hentai, and all that?
i have a tender spot for men who speak the old Baltic...Lithuanian or Latvian. an everyday conversation about the lunch menu just sounds so aggressive and demanding.
also a West African accent with that tinge of French will make me tremble a bit every time.

My mamas side came from Prussia.
