What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

Remember when I spent three days asking you to show one supply side economy in the world that's successful? And your answer was three days of non-sequiturs?

Good times.

Except that I gave yo an answer.

You just ignored it because it's the "SERIOUSNESS" of the charge that matters.

So, there you have it.

^^ You're helping NEM out making the rest of us look sane there Cap'n.

Curious that you're one of the few left reading it's blather. But then, you interact with Dizzybooby daily as well.

The company you keep says a lot about you. ;)

No, answer the question.

What laws did the Democrats pass that caused the housing collapse?

The Community Reinvestment Act

How can you measure the value of knowing that company books are sounder than they were before? Of no more overnight bankruptcies with the employees and retirees left holding the bag? No more disruption to entire sectors of the economy?

Everybody's books were sound.

When the books were found not to be sound, Barney, Maxine and Chris went to war to maintain the status quo with the Democrat contribution laundry over at Freddie and Fannie.

Yes, I see your point.

I am still interacting with you and merc when most people put you on ignore long ago...

And what I said to Jen was hardly what one would regard as positive reenforcement, now was it...

Everyone has a right to own a home, job or not, We can sell the debt to the rest of the world to finance it. Nothing can possibly go wrong.
Native Americans should all live in tepees. It's what the tourists expect.

*laugh*
"Most people"?

You mean those who tired of getting their noses rubbed in their own folly. Much like you did when you were raked over the coals repeatedly over the "FairTax".

Funny little man.

who is this Jen you keep referring to? So far the GB nut jobs have called 10-15 people "Jen" WTF?

why is everyone so obsessed with her?

If you repeat it often enough, then maybe you will convince yourself that it is true.

Where's the 4% growth?

I just smacked you for spamming non-sequiturs as a response to my question about supply-side economies and you make this post?

Joke post?

No, answer the question.

wow you are one dip shit

1st, democrats said home ownership was a right and that everyone should own a home. fantasy.

2nd, we had the housing bubble with flippers

3rd too many greedy banks that gave loans to unqualified people thanks to the democrats

4th when the dot com bubble collapsed, people slowed down on flipping

5th when the market crashed, people panic and cashed out or walked away from homes

now 90% of this was the democrats fault 10% rep

the housing market crash was a perfect storm. from the economy, dot coms, dip shit government people, this and that, and GREED

do you disagree? or did you put your little man skirt on and run away?

There's an interesting article HERE about why partisan Glibertarians like AJ MUST blame the CRA for the collapse of the housing market.

Long story short, if they didn't blame the CRA they'd have to admit that there "free market uber alles" libertarian philosophy directly caused the housing collapse, due to the lack of simple regulations on things such as credit swaps and sub prime lending.

Of course, if AJ and the Glibertarians here have taught us one thing, it's that Libertarianism is never at fault, even when it is.

In my ever so humble opinion, the collapse in the housing market was caused by a natural downturn being magnified by the Credit Default Swap contracts. Also, in my humble opinion, those instruments were illegal insurance policies and it's an outrage that nobody has gone to jail for selling them.

The Community Reinvestment Act. Not only upheld, but expanded upon by Republicans leading up to the recession.

Is that your final answer? Are you sure?

I didnt' realize that was passed after 2006 by the Democratic congress.

AJ is privy to so much information that the rest of us don't have access to apparently.

Expand upon those Republican expansions.

I was thinking of the American Dream Down Payment Act of 2003. That's where Republicans made it possible for people with paltry incomes and tenuous attachments to the job market to get into houses on 100% credit - no money down. Then when there was an economic downturn these people flooded the economy with foreclosures.

Republicans like to forget their own "ownership society" idea.

you are exactly the problem with what's wrong in DC - all you want to do is point fingers. blowing hot air while not accomplishing anything.

but hey, you work in government and no one works there so you surround yourself with hot heads accomplishing nothing
