Have you ever been in the back seat of a Crown Victoria?

You have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say or do can and will be held against you in a court of law.

You have the right to speak to an attorney.

If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.

Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?

The Miranda stuff was too much. You have to trust your audience.

Yup.

My dad was a cop. When he and my mom were together I went everywhere in the back seat of a Crown Vic. Because the taxpayers paid for the gas. They paid for us to go to Dollywood.

Thanks, taxpayers. Those trips were kind of fun.

It is an LTD under a different username.

Shame on you! The Crown Victoria is a very beautiful and smooth running Ford. Then again, any car looks good without the blue light special in your rear view mirror.

I actually own a 1989 LTD.
It drives beautifully, but is not what I would call an 'attractive' car.
And yes, it has absolutely enormous legroom - it's the only car my 6'3 tall son can sit in the back comfortably.

But, it needs a mini-bar :D

Don't forget- a good condition Crown Vic police intercepter will top out around 130 mph, corner as good as most Camaros & Mustangs, knock down 24 mpg, and still get you cheap insurance rates. Lets face it, who wouldn't trade a little bit of looks for all that? And if you can snag a push bar for the front you can scare hell out of people who think it's still a cop.

My LTD has the 3.9 litre straight 6, but we've put a performance head on, as well as few other modifications.
The man has just finished redoing the brakes, discs and wheel bearings and has gone for a drive to bed the brakes in.
When he comes back, I'll take a pic.

I have a growing fetish for Ford 60s and early Ford 70s cars and trucks. Particularly Early 70s convertible LTDs and Mustangs.

I remember when my Dad had bought my mother a used '79 LTD. Not a scratch on it, but still I thought it was the ugliest car I had ever seen. Then I drove it and fell in love with it. Too bad she gave it to my brother as a wedding present.

Well, close.

You have the ABSOLUTE right to remain silent.

Anything you say can be held against you in a court of law.

You have the right to an attorney, and to have that attorney present before and during questioning.

If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed by the court, free of charge.

It's best to always read them from the card rather than quote them from memory, and to specify that you did so in the report. Important Constitutional issue, can screw up the whole case. Must be done correctly.
