Toothache.

So, it's ANZAC day and the man has a toothache. Where we live, there are no such things as Emergency Dentists.
I've been looking online, and the number of whacko cures for toothache are just mindboggling!
From chewing crackers and using the mash to plug the tooth, thro to pushing half a clove of garlic onto the tooth, making a paste of bread, salt and pepper, and moving on to good old oil of cloves and baby teething gel.

What do you do?

take a good look and remove any food debris.
clove oil does the business.
or chew an aspirin.

mostly though, max out on paracetamol & ibuprofen. stagger the doses by a couple of hours so that it doesn't all wear off at once.

putting food on it is dumb. the starches in bread & crackers wil turn to sugar in saliva, be eaten by plaque, become acid and make the pain worse. if you want to plug the gap, sugar free gum or something like that would be better.

I just read one 'fix' that says to warm a big sip of vodka in your mouth and then tilt so it covers the tooth for as long as possible.
Needless to say, the man likes this one!

Garlic sure sounds like it would work... but as I'm planning to ravish him later (purely to take his mind off the pain you understand!) I am a teensy bit concerned about garlic-mouth on clit.

never chew an aspirin or put an aspirin on a painful tooth. it doesn't work topically. swallow it. aspirin placed on oral tissues causes burns. acetyl salicylic acid = low pH.

A whole lot of aspirin. Clove oil works to kill the pain also (some dentists use it for dry socket after wisdom tooth extraction). Vodka, yes. Cotton ball soaked with it, right against the offending tooth. Now get thee to a dentist, please!

I have no idea if pharmacies or drug stores are open are open on ANZAC Day, or what products they carry, but...

There's a product in the USA called Orajel that works wonders on toothaches, and it works within seconds of being applied. If they don't have that product in your part of the world, look for a product with active ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride 0.02%, Benzocaine 20%, Zinc chloride 0.1%.

ice. it depends why the tooth is aching. if its a root that is swelling and pressing against the bone and gums, only an anti inflammatory and maybe ice will help. Opiates won't even help.

Dentist today. The alcohol on the tooth thing worked.
Kept the pain down for a few hours, so he actually got some sleep.

Having said that, 2 bongs and the pain came down from a 7 to a 3.
