Yep!
the 2nd image...is the first.
Scan..then..a quick bit of photoshopping. That would have been a lot of graphite on my hands otherwise! Besides, it is so much faster and appropriate use of the tool.

I have a tablet, but still prefer to at least start things manually.
and sometimes I might test things out in photoshop...and then execute manually.

My own interpretation of Paul Bunyan and Babe, his blue Ox.

Another example of quicky photoshop after effects. Nothing meticulous, just blasting some color and values into place. In real life, I have to take things to a "higher" level..and since these are "just for giggles", I can (and am) a bit sloppier.
