Hey Perg... An Osprey Going Fishing

Caught MY attention... The Osprey is an awsome bird... I've seen the video, but never tire of watching it again. Thanks for sharin'

Hi. Believe it or not, I thought of you when I titled this thread.

It is pretty interesting. The talons are scary.

I love how he shook the water off of himself, while flying and keeping a grip on a fish.

And that huge fish at the end. What a grip with one leg!

I am glad you liked it.

You are too cute! I knew you'd get a kick out of that.

The wings and talons are amazing!

The second set, when he grabs the flat fish, flounder, whatever it is, is really cool, because you can see him streamline just before he hits the water. Beak between feet, wings folded. So very cool.

I know! And the way he shook the water off in flight and keeping a grip.

When are you starting your work with raptors?

Yeah, I pointed that out to Lady P when I showed her the video. You can see him lose altitude as he shakes and then flap harder to gain it back.

I have trainings next week and then another one in May. The season starts after that. But I'm excited about next week's training, because it certifies me to rescue injured birds an transport them to the center.

Awesome!

How many fish did the first one get? 3 or 4 ?

I think the flat fish was a halibut. Maybe Thor knows for sure.

I like the way that on the last one, after he shakes off the water and regains a two-claw grip, he is now holding the fish in an aerodynamic position

... and from the side it looks like he's surfing on a fish's back or carrying a torpedo WWII style.

Nice vid! I was thinking that one looked like a flounder. That side view of that third fish looked like he was surfing.
