Yesterday I was on a chartered fishing trip in the Persian Gulf. Dubai is around 750 miles from Tehran by air. I was maybe 600 miles from the Iranian shoreline so I did what every good American does when slightly inebriated and to much sun, I flipped Iran off.

Praise be to Allah nobody saw me. But hey you know I could of really started some shit if anybody was watching.

From everything I've read and according to a few recent arrivals I've spoken to, most of Iran's youth has an affinity for American things and wants to throw off the yoke of the ayatollahs and liberalize social norms.

It's the old guard that hocks hate for the U.S., and most of Iran's population is composed of people under 40.

The biggest danger, as I see it, is to act against them instead of letting them navigate their way to modernization.
