a friend who is a sound engineer (which in itself is a contradiction in terms) once espoused the same theory, but i reckon if i use the headphones as a spur and bury a decent set of speakers in the lawn.. (a new amp is cheaper) the amp wont suffer.

he had a set of martin monitors as his speakers.

crest amp next i reckon.
