Well given that I am a submissive both in the RW and in my fantasies, I rarely write any part that would have me as a vanilla or a dominant because it simply doesn't appeal to me and reflects when I try to write as such.

Therefore, I never thought I would write as well with another submissive, it just never seemed to fit for me but I managed to write something rather well with someone who became a good friend of mine. Therein finding compatibility in an unlikely place, I also rather enjoyed the thread with Lucian_Devine.

Interesting, writing outside your comfort zone... I guess that is definitely a good idea. Not only is it a challenge, but its also a change of pace. However, I am still new here so I am trying to get better at writing. I know I am good now, but I want to be one of the best.

So how was that thread with another submissive? What were your characters and story in that thread?

In that thread, we conjured up a mythical world with biblical and mythological aspects. Our characters were warriors and between us we had about eight other NPC's to play with as our soldier's companions. It had to be a fantastical world or else no one could believe a female Egyptian commander BC!

There is some historical components so it's quite easy to relate to as well, you can imagine the things we're describing as opposed to something completely alien that's reliant only upon our descriptions, this also made back and forth between us easy. The story just flowed between us with very little need to 'check' with each other.

Nice, sounds like it was a cool thread. Link please?

Also, you said two submissives, so what was their relationship outside of being soldiers?

Link to A Hero's Second Chance :)

Their relationship grows in it but it is of a vanilla standing at the moment, we haven't explored other possibilities just yet although I simply had to add in a few assholes to make me feel at home hehe

Cool, added that to my to-read-list :)

As for adding assholes, I totally agree, almost any good story needs assholes to add contrast and maybe moral ambiguity for those special stories I love so much!!!

I've been thinking about it, it does seem possible to add moral ambiguity to an SRP, but it would probably lower the amount of the S in the SRP to a level lower than many people would find appropriate given the namesake. However, I would love to try doing that. Just need to let the creative juices flow!!!

I think that depends on the story built to support it se7en. Theorhetically I think there can be a story with lots of sex and lots of moral ambiguity it just needs the right combination of circumstances in the plotline and premise and a like-minded cowriter.

Indeed, that's exactly why it's hard, finding that right combination is not going to be easy, but it would be awesome if done well!!!

Do you know of any threads that does that?

You would be amazed at how easy it is to add in moral ambiguity even just between two people. Actually I think I have a lot of that in one of my threads where my character considers for a decent half of the thread to date, whether or not she is doing the right thing by both herself and societal standards.

Her comprehension of her own feelings and emotions comes into question and a lot of what she thinks and feels wouldn't conform to a normal society's point of view so she feels that she should suppress who she really is.

I could go on and on but I think I make less sense the further I go lol! Did I make any sense there?

I used to take on a lot more, but now I've toned that down a lot. I use the SRPs to wind down from writing fuller pieces for Lit., as well as just to give myself a boost of muse.

Yeah....... I have no clue what you're talking about

Just kidding, it did make sense, but that's not moral ambiguity I think, unless I actually didn't understand. That's inner turmoil because she doesn't conform to the social norm; however, she's not doing anything evil while thinking its good or the other way around.

I like it when stories introduce the whole spectrum of choices and human emotions, not just good and evil, not just black and white. It's amazing when stories have those shades of grey when you no longer know what's right and what's wrong.

Ah ok, I see what you mean. I take moral ambiguity to mean 'right and wrong' and 'vagueness' basically, not in any specific context.

What's the actual meaning of moral ambiguity? Is it about good and evil, or just vagueness in general?

I have no idea, I don't think there's a specific meaning to anyone. I just take morality and ambiguity by their basic descriptions and put them together. 'Right and wrong' being moral and 'vagueness' being ambiguity.

So I guess it would mean the hazy shades of good and evil but I didn't take it to mean the overall story in general, just from a character's point of view.

I think this could really do your head in if you let it lol!

But then where my character is concerned, it's her point of view that says society won't accept her, she doesn't really consider that different branches of society would. She starts off with tunnel vision on the subject so while she is going through some inner turmoil, it can come under moral ambiguity as well.

I suppose it really depends on what you're looking for in a thread when you say you're searching for something morally ambiguous because that could mean something different depending upon the person.

ooops, a bit too late for that warning my friend

It would seem the meaning is slightly different between one person to the other, that's why prior discussion of the subject would make all points of view clear to all parties involved.

A quick search on humanity's best friend Google gave:

Ah Urban Dictionary, where you can find the answer you couldn't find anywhere else because someone already posed the question, sought an answer and put it on the internet!

*Giggles*

Oh and what the hell did we all do before Google?!

I think we have 'out-discussed' ourselves on the subject my friend but you're very easy to talk to :)
And I have to find ways of occupying my time in the evenings nowadays, my boyfriend does the night shift now instead, I'm slowly getting used to it though.

Yeah so its 100% trustworthy :D

Before Google...... We rode camels or horses, we would have been more active instead of glued to the PC all day, the button 'Google search' wouldn't be the most clicked button every day and the phrase 'Google it' would have had no meaning.

Its very nice to talk to you too. And since, according to you, we 'out-discussed' this topic, propose a new one :)

Okay as you wish, how about general chit-chat?

How are you and what are you up to this evening? (Assuming it's evening in your part of the world of course!)

General chit chat. Yeah that sounds like fun :)

I am pretty good, thanks for asking, and how are you this fine day?

For me its not evening, its afternoon, around 3:30 PM...

As for what I am up to. Well not much, will go out with some friends in a couple hours, and then back to literotica or some other entertainment option. What about you?

Well into the evening part here, it's 10:30pm!

Well I usually wait up until about 2 - 4am and then go off to bed so I can get up at the same time as my partner does, around midday tomorrow. So until I go to bed, I need to occupy myself with something and over the past few days I've found there's only so much facebooking I can do until I want to kill myself lol!

I'm having a rough pregnancy so I'm unable to work, it makes things a lot more difficult to be more physically impaired than others and it kinda sucks not to be able to bring home some money, I'm completely financially reliant on my boyfriend at the moment. But he's totally wonderful!

I just finished responding to a very old thread that hasn't seen a post from me in the longest time lol! I don't know if my co writer will respond to it, last I heard he was taking a writing hiatus but I like to have the last post so I can always leave them the option :)

Oh you still have 4 to 6 hours ahead of you and with nothing to do. That doesn't sound like much fun.

over the past few days I've found there's only so much facebooking I can do until I want to kill myself lol!

LOL funniest thing I've heard today and yesterday for that matter :D

At least you're lucky with a nice supportive boyfriend. Which month are you in?

Also if you have way too much time, why not take on more threads?

Why thank you! :D

I am three months along now and the twins are healthy and so am I, I just wish I FELT like I was! Throwing up does not make you feel great, let me tell you!

Well I've only just started on my old threads again, I have a few of those to respond to and no one has really come to me wanting to write. Not that I can blame them, my life has proven to be most unpredictable in the past year and I flit in and out as I can, some of my co writers have waited months for a response.

Other than that, I'd need a good story and I'm a little short on those. Mostly I have fantastical ideas based on other stories I've read but can't really form the basis for something more solid. Just bits and pieces, ideas of things I'd like to write.

Three months along? This means in three months they will be born or they are three months old? And its good they are healthy.

And Yeah throwing up is a lot of fun, I agree :)

As for writing a thread. I am always looking for new good partners like you, so I will pop up in your PM now
