I think an SRP profile helps a lot as well.

I never thought about making an idea thread, is that done in the lounge or somewhere else?

Here in the lounge works. Several of us have one and yes, the SRP Profile helps.

That's true too. I do have some ideas, but from what I see, they're being done to death (ome really badly, if I may add as MHO).

*stomps foot* I wanna be different damnit!! lol

Then take an overdone idea and twist it. Eliminate this or that, add something different. You get the idea.

*head shake* It isn't just you.

They seem to be EVERYWHERE.

Yeah I don't like the idea...

This thread is still about how many threads one takes at a time, and about the characters used in them, so more input is always welcome, and unrelated chit chat is also welcome :)

Yeah is it just me or the incest threads are all over the place?

They're all over the place. To each their own. If it's something I'm not interested in reading, I just keep on going.

My characters in my current threads:

On Lit: Xia Xiang is a Drow princess that is tired of a seemingly endless war between her people and the High Elves. The conflict is kept going by the manipulations of the high priestess Callandryl on the side of the Drow, and by unknown persons on the side of the High Elves. But the prince of the High Elves sends a team of Elvish Rangers to abduct Xia and bring her back in an attempt to create a peace between the two peoples by way of an interracial marriage.

Isendryll is a Drow princess who finds herself rescued from a collapsed oil sands operation by an oil crew paramedic in modern day Alberta, Canada.

By Email:

Jessie is a modern woman, lives alone, a lonely young widow with no family nearby. Kat is a teen homeless girl with a secret. One day she stows away in Jessie's SUV inadvertently and ends up in Jessie's garage. Jessie finds her as she's unloading packages from her vehicle. Each can provide something the other may not even realize they need. (This character is a lot like me in real life. It's easy to write because all I have to do is make note of how I react and feel to Sasha's posts.)

Brighid is a warrior centauress who has seen too much of battle and death. Her previous attendant (Part groom, part squire) was abducted by the Northern barbarian raiders who the centaurs have been enlisted to fight on behalf of the human kingdom. They make the best cavalry units. Keleth is the young human woman who is assigned as Brighid's new attendant. She faces a monumental task of redeeming this drunken, burned out, war weary centaur.

Welcome welcome... big fan of your picture thread and your stories :)

Thanks

As for me I seem to have a lot of threads going on but never enough time to keep up with them all. I've been very fortunate to have very patient cowriters.

I guess my ambitions are always greater than my muse or my time will allow.

I usually only have a couple going. I'm obnoxiously snobby about what I write about and who I write with.
(this isn't counting Garrote or Intersect City)

Tell me about it- snob! ;)

On topic: Unlike a lot of the talent around here, I'm much more one-dimensional. To save on time and maybe because I'm not as creative, my characters are fairly similar, but I just throw them into different situations. It saves on research and....I quite like my characters and I'm sentimental so I keep bringing them back

Don't get me wrong though, I love writing and would have as many threads as my little brain could keep track of if I could!!

I'm sick of your modesty :)

Luckily enough, I have co-writers who are not impatient and are very understanding.

Only because you're bloody good!

No I had 18 at one point. A few of them hordes. Where I had a central character, and then 10 or twenty faceless minions to use and work through.

But I had a puppet master.
Three sadists of varying integrity, and varying levels of bad.
An ax crazy
Two Stunt Cocks. (who yes would have been about the same character except for names)
Two superheroes. (Though one was the main villain of the piece, and the other was becoming him.)
And a host of other assorted run of the mill every day people. With different stories backgrounds, and kinks. It was hard but doable.

Though at that point I was stretched very thin. I think two more and my head would have exploded.

You did a thread about Hollywood chickens???? You are a true master CT ;)

As a writer, I like to dive head first into angst (or sex) and see what I can mold with it.

Now you tell me. And I had to pick the angst bit.....*sighs*

Yeah I don't like the idea...

Unrelated chit chat is a specialty of mine - but this is an interesting thread!

Indeed, that's what I do as well :)

Very interesting, this thread is giving me pretty cool ideas. If you people don't mind me borrowing :)

Thanks

My pleasure :)

It occurs to me everyone of us would solve their problems here by acquiring more time!!!!!!! Yeah I know I am a genius:D

If you do something long enough, you will become an expert on it, so doing the same character over and over but in different situations has its strong advantages.

Unrelated chit chat is a specialty of mine - but this is an interesting thread!

You're welcome to chit chat all day, and thanks, I am starting to realize I made an interesting thread. I am glad you like it :)

I'm sick of your modesty :)

It's not modesty it's the truth :D I would have many more threads, assuming I had interested partners, but my little brain can only cope with so much
And anyway, wait - WHAT'S THAT OVER THERE...?!?!?

giggles and snuggles a Fish while he's not looking

And to get back on topic, this thread has been awesome. Lots of really interesting discussion!! It's great to see how different people approach their threads!!

Your little brain should craft another amazing reply, else poor little Charlotte will be bent over that unforgiving desk forevers! :D

As for me? There are times when I can barely manage 2 or 3 threads, and times when I can chain-write 10-15 threads at once. So, I have to be strict with myself and not take on more than ~6 threads at once.

...Unless a thread idea is just far too good to pass up. Like is happening right now.

If you had a little brain, you can't write THAT good!!!!!!!

And thanks, I am glad you like the thread. It started as just me being curious as to how many threads regulars here keep at one time, but it branched to an interesting discussion. Looking forward to more input :)

Now tell marauder to hurry up and carry on with that thread damn it!!!

*Still searching for entrance music to this character. Any suggestions are more than welcome. I need something dark and ruthless, with something sweet and beautiful underneath.*

The thick angry tones of entrance music fill the air. Thick, and massive head bowed under a dark boxers robe, a single stylized note in faded gold across the back. A pair of gloves looking massive, like they hold cinderblocks instead of mere hands.

Now entering the ring. Hailing from Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. weighing in at 197 pounds, standing 6 feet and two inches.
Boxing for the Cruiserweight championship belt.
Simon 'Sweet Music' Marchant!

Each motion inside the ring is clipped. Quick, the movements of a trained professional, or a hungry predator. Nothing wasted, in confident strides, as the robe falls and sculpted pink steel appears instead of flesh. Muscles layered in perfect symmetry, stretching as a single fist raises to the air. Victory is almost an assurance it seems, when cold cobalt blue eyes search the form of his opponent.

He smiles

The wet thuds of dull violence will be percussion to the winds of his fists, and the symphony of destruction. This match will be full of Sweet Music.

I like it. Being a much more demure Aussie, maybe Brahms or Mozart for me....NOT!
