I'm 5ft tall and way 250. Why is it that if my face is beautiful with no flaws that I'm your dream of a BBw but if my face is flawed I'm a nightmare? If you have a fat fetish is fat fat?

Why? Because BBW stands for big, beautiful woman. Some lovers have called me a "smaller, curvy BBW" due to how that fetish has exploded. I am 5' 6" and at 200-205. I have a curve to my tits and hips and the (sides of my) stomach curving inward like an hourglass. (Need to flatten the FRONT of the stomach now! lol)

I have seen many, many women who will call themselves a "BBW" who are ugly and very, very large. A "fat fetish" is not the same as a "BBW admirer". Also, a "chubby chaser" is usually someone who likes a bit of a smaller fluffy gal.

Seems the term "SSBBW" needs to be used a lot more frequently for the very fat!

I doubt any fetish is black and white. There are literally a million of them and so many subtle nuances.

No,my dear

If you are 5 ft tall and weigh 250 you are by definition beautiful.

A "flawed" face is probably more a distinguishing characteristic if you think positively.

It's no fetish, darling...it's an appreciation of true beauty.:rose:

A confident woman, no matter what size she might be works for me.

i'm sorry but your whole comment has really pissed me off every woman is beautiful in some way. beauty is in the eye of the beholder you may think someone is ugly but someone else may think they are a goddess.
and any one who is larger then the normal stick thin can call themselves a bbw
and if you are a true proud bbw you wouldn't want to flatten your stomach

There's a difference between a BBW and a BUW.

Food for thought...

This is a really REALLY good thread, good topic too.

I have often wondered about this. What is a BBW? and where does it start and begin? You know? Like, am I ugly if I weigh 10 more pounds?

There has been a lot of media attention directed at this recently after Karl Lagerfeld called Adele obese (in essence).

I often wonder if I fall into the BBW category, or "ugly", or "fat cow" category. I don't know. I used to have SERIOUS issues with myself which I am still trying to get over. I have learned to go with "It ain't changing anytime soon"

It's funny, even in the BBW threads on this board which I have read, I feel like I look like none of them, can't relate to any of them, am I bigger? Smaller? Do I fit? Am I pretty? I don't know.

What it really boils down to is, does it really matter? Probably not. Either people are going to like you for who you are or they aren't. A lot of this is based on looks.

I have spoken on size discrimination, it does exist. Somewhere I once read a story about a woman who was entering a country, and at the counter where she had to hand over her passport, the officer asked her what her occupation was and she said, "Plus-sized model" and he said, something along the lines of "Model would have been suffice, size has nothing to do with it." It's really a good way of looking at it.

You don't hear people saying, "I am a black model" or I am "white health instructor". It has been rendered offensive to comment on someone's colour but not their weight. Def. something to think about....

:s

There seems to be some confusion here (certainly I am  )

Is the debate on fat fetishes or BBWs? Because there is a difference.
Some people have a fetish for the actual fat itself - the feel, the look, whatever it is that they enjoy about it.

A BBW is exactly what it says on the tin: Big Beautul Woman.

Now a BBW can be fat and a fat person can be beautiful. The two are not exclusive. But a BBW doesn't have to be fat, she can just be a larger size than the average stick insect you see plastering fashion magazines. Curvaceous? Yes. A BBW has the classic hourglass shape - the boobs and hips that makes a woman a woman. Most hourglass shapes tend to be prone to carrying their weight on the hips, bum and lower abdomen (or what I call my spare tyre), especially after childbirth.

All are signs of what a womans body is actually for (no not that you dirty git) and this is what men who appreciate the female form are attracted to on a biological level. This is what they find beautiful.

Beauty of the face is a different issue completely. Different people find different things beautiful, so it is impossible to have a benchmark for comparison. Besides, even the mostly recognised of beauty icons have their ugly days, just as the generally thought of as ugly has days where they look in the mirror and think, I feel good about myself today.

- you could of course think this is all a load of boolprops. Just my opinion.

Well as a man who's 99% only big with bbw's so far. I"d have to say that to me it's the inside that matters. You are who you are. And if you can't change something don't You're not here to please everyone and shouldn't have to try. I'm on the short side so I'm not the ideal man either but I've accepted that and if a woman doesn't like it when we meet "Hey that's ok and I move on.." So you Ladies just be you and don't worry about society..Society is Fucked Up....

In my experience fetishes are alluring because they aren't constrained by rules. I love curves on a woman, nice thick thighs and a good portion of confidence. If you let other people define you, you're always going to be disappointed.

This ^^ very true.

As to a "flawed" face. Well, as someone else said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has their own opinions, some people love blondes, big hips, no breasts, freckles, glasses .. the list is endless.

What one person sees as a flaw, someone else will see as beautiful or defining. Everyone is different, and entitled to their preference. But, lit is a very big place, full of lots of wonderful people. If you feel like you cant seem to find a place where you fit in, you can simply start your own thread :)

Although I will say, the bbw thread is very inclusive, with a very wide rage of pics:eek:

That is your perogative. :) That's the wonders of being your own person!

At any rate, I will prefer it once I am back down to a size 10. As I said, I love my curves, but I just want to "tuck" a few areas once more and get back to a true hourglass. That is my perogative. :)

Enjoy life! It's too short to be "pissed" due to the net

We all have a personal preference. Some like a curvy full figured woman like I do...case in point. Mrs K, whom I have post here many times. 5' 250lb, to me, that is....Big, but, I'm not going too get in the way of someone's fetish or likes of dis-likes.

I don't even use the expression BBW... I go with Full-Figure. I like too work in Size. 16,18+++ could be BBW or SBBW..... to each there own. Even some of the posts on BBW2.0 is bigger than I like.

I'll throw in my two cents.

Feeling good about yourself and accepting your body are positive things, but culture fetishizing morbid obesity is not.

I personally like a girl who looks and is healthy, whether she is naturally larger (like many Scottish women, Dutch women, etc) or thinner (The average Chinese).

However, being so large as to make yourself ill should not be glorified. People need to take care of themselves and live healthy lifestyles. If you are living healthy, being healthy and are happy with yourself, at THAT point do you start classifying as BBW/ "Campaign for real beauty" material.

This is just what I believe, but that's because losing a foot to diabetes because of laziness grosses me out.

I've been with plus size women exclusively since I was 19. It is my preference.

A little bit of history for ya'll. In the early days of the internet I participated on the Dimensions Board which was a size acceptance community that was "feeder" friendly. A "feeder" is someone who is turned on by their partner's weight gain. A "feedee" is someone who is turned on by being fed by their partner. I remember the first time I stumbled upon that fetish. It was the strangest thing I'd ever come across and I found it erotic. Back in those days -- 1997, gosh was it really THAT long ago -- just about everyone had dial up and movies posted online lasted about ten seconds, just enough for a BBW to jiggle her tummy or shake her butt.

The first BBW Superstar I remember was this thirty something feedee from NJ who went by the name Kelligrrl. She had big eighties hair -- she was from NJ, what other kind of hair was there back then -- and had a website and magazine called Bulge. She was a feedee and purposely gained weight. If you sent candy or McDonalds certificates she would send you a personalized photo of her eating the Big Mac, Supersize Fries and Milkshake she bought with your gift certificate. She claimed to be in the high 300's to 400 lbs. range but that was impossible to verify. But she was big, beautiful, sexy and got that size on purpose. Sometime around 2000 she disappeared off the face of the earth -- or at least the net. There were rumours that she had solicited money to make a dvd but ended up spending it on herself which pissed a lot of BBW admirers off. Don't know what happened to Kelligrrl. She might very well be on this site under a different name chasing a different fetish.

After a couple of years on the Dimensions Board I stopped participating in the fat fetish community. I love BBW's and SSBBW's. However, I have not need to turn a girlfriend or partner into some kind of fetish. If I am in a relationship with someone it is unlikely she will be smaller than a size 16. And there really is no upper end to the size I am attracted to as long as everything -- breasts, butt, hip, thighs, tummy -- are in proportion.

Feederism is somewhat erotic but I could never push a woman to gain so much weight that she is immobile. But feeding each other from the same plate, enjoying a great meal at a restaurant with a BBW and not giving a crap what the people around you think when you order three desserts can be a turn on.

I agree with this 100%. I also do not understand the smoking fetish. Why try to make your body unhealthy on purpose?

People who don't share a certain fetish will have a very hard time understanding it. This goes from more mainstream paraphilias like foot fetishes to the more obscure like feederism. I don't really "get" BDSM despite the fact that it is the most widespread fetish out there and there is no shortage of information and psychological abstracts on the topic. The idea of tying somebody up or being tied up myself never did anything for me. But I've always had a thing for plus size women and one evening, in 1991 when I was in college, I went to the grocery store and spotted a SSBBW loading up her shopping cart. After I checked out I went into the parking lot. The woman was parked in front of me, her hood facing mine. When I started up my car and turned on the headlights I had a clear view of her going to town on a quart of ice cream, ravishingly shoveling spoonful after spoonful into her mouth. The expression on her face as she was eating suggested ecstasy. It was like I caught this beautiful, 300 plus pound woman in a private, intimate moment. It totally turned me on. However, if I was with somebody who didn't share the fetish that person might have considered the site gross or disgusting.
