Justice for Trayvon??

Seems to me, there's an awful lot of talk and posturing around this case, much of which might be worth more were we to wait and see what the investigators determine happened. Jamming the present situation into the mold of white black race relations of fifty years ago isn't an absolute prerequisite here. Why not wait and see what the investigation(s) tell us and then opine?

Hi Karen!
How're the wife and kids?

“You will recall the incident of the beating of the black homeless man Sherman Ware on December 4, 2010 by the son of a Sanford police officer. The beating sparked outrage in the community but there were very few that stepped up to do anything about it. I would presume the inaction was because of the fact that he was homeless not because he was black. Do you know the individual who stepped up when no one else in the black community would? Do you know who spent tireless hours putting flyers on the cars of persons parked in the churches of the black community? Do you know who waited for the church-goers to get out of church so that he could hand them flyers in an attempt to organize the black community against this horrible miscarriage of justice? Do you know who helped organize the City Hall meeting on January 8, 2011 at Sanford City Hall??

That person was GEORGE ZIMMERMAN.” – from a letter to Turner Clayton of the Seminole County NAACP written by “a concerned Zimmerman family member”

Fuck. I can't even break into the top ten around here!

Oh wait. . . that's awesome.

You've floundered around so much you're not even sure of what you've said.

If you're arrested there has to be some kind of evidence.

You dumb fuck I said accused not arrested. You can be arrested simply by having another person swear out a warrant, that does not mean that it will even get to a trial. I would say that you founder around so much that you forget what you read, but it appears that you can't read no matter how much you founder.

BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, I was wondering exactly what Sean was laughing about. The word was not only spelled correctly, but used mostly in the correct context. Although I would have chosen another verb the second go round.

Unfortunately, in his next post, D59 confirms he meant to type "flounder."

Actually, though I hate to say it, I was guilty of the same thing I accused Spiderman of doing. I wasn't paying attention. Oh well I doubt it is the last time it happens.

If it makes you feel any better you get brownie points for admitting you made a mistake instead of pretending you meant to do that. It's rare to get that sort of integrity around these parts.

Most GBers would saw off their own leg if they could use that as a plausible reason for why there was shit on their shoes.

Sean I can just wish I was perfect, just as I wish that I was always right. Unfortunately that is not the case and never will be.

Here's the (partial) police report, if anyone's interested.

Not a lot of new information there Lor, but there are some things to be learned.

First of all I'm impressed with the police/EMT response times. If the report(s) are to be believed it was a mere 13 min. from the first call to the time TM was pronounced dead by the EMT's.

The reports indicate 6 unique witnesses. (Going by physical description here although one may be a duplicate.)

The scene was secured and a scene contamination log started promptly and the case turned over to the major crime unit promptly as well.

It appears that Zimmerman was immediately isolated from any witness interaction. And it appears that an attempt was made to isolate the witnesses from each other.

All in all it appears that proper procedure was followed, just don't know how well yet.

and yet, it has the stench of cover up.

How is one accused of a crime & not arrested?

Agreed, good for you, Dream. I was just pointing out in my pedantic way that the word was just fine the way it was.

That is pretty fucking fast. Depending on state/local protocols, a body with a bullet hole and no pulse might be a "no work" scene. If not, that's a truly blazing fast response to declare time. For those who don't speak EMS, a person in cardiac arrest from trauma stands a very small chance of ever regaining a pulse. Some systems refuse to try to resuscitate them. I assume this is one of them.
