I looked at some of the pics in the Lesbian photos thread and noticed that there is nothing that isnt allowed.... including (female of course) tongues and fingers entered into vaginas.

But if there is a penis involved it seemed to get banned. There is a clear bias against gay men (or perhaps penises) on this board and for people who claim to abhor sexual based biases it sure seems pretty blatant.

The same can be said about the Amatuer Pic Feedback forum as well. All male thread shots with erected penises (and even flaccid ones) are removed or outright deleted. But, alot of girl pic post stay unaltered.

You have to consider the rules on the forum, but even then, you consider that most of the stories on this site are graphic in nature, why can't the forum. I know there has to be a "18 and above setting" for this place.

I don't peruse the other forums and rarely look at non-gay threads, so I don't see the inconsistencies.

It could also be a legal issue of what counts as sex that they're going off of. I know the law here only counts sex as a penis in a vagina. If it's a mouth with a penis, vulva, or anus, or a penis with an anus, it falls under sodomy and anything else is fine. Literotica wouldn't have any sex/nudity banning rules if it weren't for being careful about legal standards, so you'd have to know what law they're going off of.

I cannot be everywhere. Keeping up with the many, many pic threads on the two forums I moderate takes a lot of time. Moderating Lit is an unpaid position, and while I enjoy it very much, I do have a job and other things going on. Additionally, I live in Tokyo, so I am not always on at the same time as everyone else, and there ends up being huge amounts of posts to go through when I do get on. And frankly, keeping up with the pic threads is my least favorite part of moderating. So there is a lot that I miss. What I see and don't see is entirely up to chance. It's whatever thread replies are first in my email inbox. It's however far back in the thread I feel like going at the time. It's whatever people have reported first. It's how much time I have to go through and clean up pic threads that day. Nothing is "censored" any more than anything else, it's just a matter of what's in front of my eyeballs. As I am typing this, I am going through the last few pages of the Lesbian Pics thread and cleaning it up, because you have drawn my attention to it, not because I am "covering up" any bias.

Frankly, if you think I don't like gay porn, you haven't seen my browser history. I find it almost amusing that I am accused of this bias, considering how many times I have said I like gay male porn.

Instead of getting upset over your perceived injustices, it would be much more helpful if you just reported posts that violate the rules as you see them. I always act immediately on reported posts (well, when I see them in my email), so that is the fastest way to get a violating post of any genre of the boards. If I disagree with your report, I won't act upon it, but the admins also receive every report, so they may choose to if I don't. Reporting posts is so tremendously helpful to me, but almost no one does it. Please feel free to report posts as much as you like. It makes my life much easier!

I just posted to the Lesbian Pics thread a request for people to follow the rules. In doing so, I saw that my subscription to the thread had been removed. I don't remember if I did this in a fit of pique, or by accident. In any case, that is the sole reason for the lapse of attention. Not in front of my eyeballs means it's not moderated. At any rate, posting to the thread caused me to be subscribed again (I have Lit set this way on purpose), so now I'll be keeping a better eye on it.

The other thread was deleted because it consisted only of pictures that violated the rules, and a complaint about the supposed (non-existent) double standard. The original Gay Pics thread was bumped today (yesterday?), and it's still there.

As for GLBT Chatter being the only one following the rules, I have two things to say: First, BDSM Talk also follows the rules, as I mod there as well. And second, I am doing what a moderator is supposed to do, what I was asked to do when I became a moderator. If others mods are not, that is their concern, not mine.

You can believe me or not, it's up to you. As always, I will say that if you have complaints about my moderating style, you can address your concerns to Laurel, one of the site owners. I welcome you or anyone else to do so if you feel it is necessary. That is my final comment on this matter, until it comes up again in six months and I have to explain myself again.

Just report, folks. It's much easier than finding conspiracies where they don't exist.

Chaps, I take Etoile at her word. Seems to me to be an oversight and a very reasonable explanation. I don't envy her position or duties here.

I for one, don't really care much for deleting photos other than when they violate copyright, but keeping legal is a serious issue and thus, cleaning up threads must be done no matter how offensive it may seem.

The name calling - by all involved - really doesn't accomplish much of anything, now does it, (?) other than polarizing an issue that was asked and answered.

Etoile doesnt need me or anyone else to defend her actions , but anyway I am going to add my 2 cents.

I have been posting on Lit for just over 6 years, and in all that time, Etoile has been fair and even handed in the way she has modded GLBT.

Modding a forum takes time, a lot of time and commitment, and Etoile has made this commitment that has lasted years, she was modding here way before I joined, and was, when I did join, one of the first people to welcome me here.

Essentially if you dont like the way the forum is moderated, go somewhere else, no one insists that you come here. If your unhappy about a decision, message the person responsible privately, dont attack people who try to keep the whole place workable and running as smoothly as their time allows. Respect the fact that MODS have lives too, and respect the work they do when they are here.

Believe me, Lit is amongst the best of forums in a whole host of subjects.

I have spent many hours talking to good people on here and shared many laughs and sad times too. Through all that Etoile has been here, ensuring their is somewhere for us all to come, which unlike the general board has stayed pleasant and welcoming for all the years I been here.
