I have posted one story that is intended to be a part of a series.

I thouroughly enjoyed writing this fictious story and wish to continue.The only response postedwas negative.

I wish to improve my writting hoping to get some positive feedback

So I guess I am looking for a proofreader to give some suggestions and criticsms for chapter 2.

If you have more chapters in this story, it makes sense to start with chapter 1 - rewrite it and when happy then resubmit it. Otherwise I can't see people wanting to read chapter 2 after reading the first chapter.

You don't have to PM Laurel to get a story deleted. Just resubmit it with "delete" at the end of the title and a note in the notes box that you want the story deleted and it will disappear in about four days.

I'm quite sure this is the preferred method. When a delete request comes through the story system, she's already in the correct place to process it. A request from a PM requires loading up another page, hunting down the author, then hunting down the story...

Although it should be simplified to an edit link since the infrastructure for exactly that sort of functionality is already in the system. I can't fathom why it hasn't been done already, considering how much easier it would be for Laurel to process the requests, how much easier it would make the process for authors, and us poor slobs trying to explain the archaic and confusing process we have in place now.

It probably would be a good idea to pull back your first chapter and redo it with someone's help. The most obvious thing, which the first feedback note focused on, was that you don't often end complete sentences with a period. The sentences just sort of go on and on and on. When you're speaking, your voice conveys "periods." You can tell when a sentence ends by the way the voice goes up and down or when it pauses. You don't have those clues in written form.

Pulling down and resubmitting is the best option. All edited stories do not come in the new stories list.

I didn't listen to palisa earlier because of my issues with procrastination. Don't make my mistake. You can let it stay till you get an editor. But after that, pull it down and then resubmit.

There are very good resources in the site to deal with your language issues. Check out "Author's Hangout Library".

Regarding punctuation, there is a wonderful article "How to punctuate like a pro" in Writer's resources. I think that I myself posted details in this forum here for another source on punctuation.

Reading the articles in Writer's resources is worth the effort, if you actually are planning to write more stories.

I thought the only way to delete a story is by PMing Laurel. Is there any other way to delete my story?

I have been thinking of pushing story plots up for feedback, and then deleting them when I actually write the story.

For security purposes and to make sure you (as the author) are the one making the removal request, you must follow this procedure: log into your account and create a story titled "REMOVE". If you want all of your work removed, you can make one form with the title "REMOVE ALL" rather than listing every submission....

Story removals are usually done within 4-7 days...

Sorry but I found Ch 1 to be unreadable within the first 2 paragraphs. If you do not edit it it is unlikely that many people will go to Ch 2, so that will be a wasted effort. It needs to be rewritten. Punctuation, complete sentences and much much more. I usually write a story and let it sit for a month and then go back and reread it fixing errors I find Then once it posts I wait a while and read it online and I always find a few typos which I fix then resubmt.

Basically I enjoyed writing the story and posted without going back to edit and refine..... hopefully chapter 2 will be more acceptable especially as Lazzielace has helped to edit!
