I just got my monthly hate mail for 695.00 worst was last august at 1180 bucks.

What's the steepest utility bill you have ever had?

No I have a big reef aquarium and a garden. All LED powered too...

When I ran MH/HPS bulbs the bill was about the same but ten years ago a 700-1100 dollar bill was like what...2k today?

Currently TX but that is changing here quite soon.
 
i average about 50 - 75 dollars. depending on the season. winter is the most. where i am at the charge per KWH is roughly 6.5 cents.

I routinely pay power bills now that would have reduced me to poverty 30 years ago when I enjoyed less income...
 
Call your electric company and ask that they test your meter. Here, they will replace the meter on the house, and test the old one. Don't hold your breath for them to tell you it was malfunctioning, because then they will have to repay you any overpayment due to the malfunction.
I did this about 20 yrs ago, and while I didn't get any money back, by electric bills miraculously lowered about 40 per cent.
 
Maybe your neighbors are stealing your electricity. It happens.

yea it is...my comp alone is 850w..aquariums just shy of 1000..garden is substantially more plus all the usual electricity use. Damn near all of it burns 12-24 hrs a day.

oh it's not the meter bro....I just use a lot of juice.
 
I pay $250 per month, every month, to light up the Savage Manse. I have gas heat and appliances though, and the gas bill is $77 a month.

So gas and electric is $327 a month.

2 weeks ago I was helping some people move. 5 adults, 4 have jobs. I could not understand why they were having such a hard time financially. Their last electric bill was $1950.00. I kid you not.

I got a call once from the neighbors of one of my rental homes. They were complaining that my tenants were stealing their electricity. Went over there and yep, my tenants had three huge extension cords running from the house next door into the house.
 
I sure hope you're making some money off that fish tank and garden..expensive hobby if not.

My stuff runs about the same as Jonnys and I heat and light a 600 sq/ft woodworking hobby shop out back along with the house
