I found one of my stories and stories by other Lit. authors on this site: xaijo.com

I don't know the period of time when this happened. My story was from 2010, but I found other Lit. stories as recent as January, 2012.

Yup...found one of my chapters on here a few weeks back.

Be VERY CAREFUL of that website though - my computer got infested with all sort of nasties, including some 'logging' software which tracks your keystrokes!!

I know the purpose of these threads are two fold. One as a courtesy warning and of course as a way to vent when you find your material somewhere else.

But no offense to the op of this thread or others I wish it would stop.

All these threads do is start up the endless debate of whether or not you own your material, the hazards of the net and eventually the vicious copy right argument.

Literotica is the number one erotic story site. As such it is a grocery store to other sites. Many of which are not legit and will shut down in a week or two-these are usually the ones that have mine fields of viruses like this one- and some more legit ones.

On the legit ones and I define legit by the simple reason of is there a contact us tab somewhere. Sometimes they will listen to you sometimes not and why should they?

The perk of this site is feedback, exposure, fun whatever you want it to be. The downside is this.

I always say ignorance is bliss. I refuse to search the web and find out where my stuff is. All it would do is cause head aches.

If you're that serious about your work remaining yours don't post here anymore, because it won't stop. Lit can really do nothing about it. They cannot spend all day every day filing dmca forms.

If you want your stuff here and want to claim it as yours go spend $35 on a copy right for an e-book and then try scanning it and sending it to every site that has your work. I've done that twice and got it pulled both times, but both were sites where someone was trying to sell it so they gave in pretty quick.

As far as here goes, its grin and bear it or don't bother anymore.

The thought occurs that it might not be a real porn story site, but a trojan horse pretending to be one with stolen stories, just to get those "all sorts of nasties" onto the computers of the unwary. At any rate, I'm not going to even look at it.

The funny thing is, no one is obligated to click on any thread. If the conversation doesn't interest you, move on to the next.

As for whether you own your own material, there is no debate. You are the absolute owner. All you do when you post here is give Lit. a non-exclusive license to post your stories for as long as you choose to leave them up. Ownership is never transferred.

As for the wisdom of posting here, well, that is another story. It's kind of like parking your bike outside a bike store with no lock on it. No one else has the right to sell your bike or ride off on it, but that doesn't mean it can't or won't happen. That's the risk you take.

Still, some people like to be notified when their property has been lifted. Sometimes you can catch the thief in the act, sometimes you can't. But if you don't know, you have no chance.

Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power.
