I like to see responsible parenting. I do not think this includes getting pregnant if you are not mentally and fiscally able to raise the child. However, I also do not like to see little kids take the wrath of crappy decisions made by their parents.

For this reason I think it is best to error on the side of caution. Kids need food. Give them food.

I have thought about this kind of scenario...not from the social cost aspect but from this angle: that children deserve better than being born with one parent already dead.
There is enough weird shit going on in this fucked up world we live in without adding to it....seriously, I am sure knowing that Dad was dead before you were born does NOT help any kid to grow up in a 'normal' way(whatever that may be).
