"a bill approved by a House committee would require physicians inform women seeking an abortion of an unproven assertion — that there is a risk of breast cancer from the procedure."

even though

"the overwhelming amount of research by the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society and other major health organizations say that isn’t so."

Not only does this bill force doctors to tell patients that there is a link between breast cancer and abortion( even if the doctor doesnt believe there is) but it allows doctors not to inform women about prenatal issues if it means preventing an abortion. Kansas doctors would also be free of potential lawsuits over the issue ,unless the woman dies.

Sigh...

Another abhorrent anti-woman policy brought to you by the Republican Party. They just can't kick the doctor out of the doctor's office fast enough.

I don't like any bill that forces a script on a physician.

There was a big fuss about one down here a while ago that would require pediatricians to go over the dangers of having a firearm with children.

Its a conspiracy by the liberal media to make it seem as if republicans are all about social issues instead of talking about job creation.

At least that's based in some kind of fact even if it's a silly law. The "abortion gives you cancer" script is just an outright lie.

Any doctor who obeys Kansas law is also guilty of an ethical violation. Lying to your patients about the risks of a medical procedure is unethical to the core, not to mention it's illegal in itself and leaves the doctor open for lawsuits.

This is utter nonsense. Why would anyone in their right mind vote for this party. It's just not what government is supposed to be doing.

No, it's just as silly because what the fuck dose a doctor have any authority in the matter? He's an MD not a weapons expert of ANY kind. The doctor may not know a fucking thing about weapons or their proper use/storage. Has NOTHING to do with the child's health and everything to do with the parents ability to be a responsible gun owner and PARENT!!! Part of which is informing oneself about the use, maintenance, storage and safety procedures of firearms. If not...natural selection has a funny way of working it's magic no matter what circumstances arise. maybe there was more to that movie final destination than I had first though....

I'm watching the second one right now and it's gory as fuck...or maybe I'm just really high but I'm pretty sure this movie is actually pretty fucking gross in a almost comical way....know what I mean?

*grin*.... TX25, get your talking points from Merc, he won't let you down....:)

Yet again another example of people with the power to make law who have no scientific knowledge whatsoever forcing those that do, to do and say inane things all for the sake of their own skewed perceptions.

And according to this link...

Quote:
"Breast cancer risk is increased for a short time after a full-term pregnancy (that is, a pregnancy that results in the birth of a living child)."

So it looks like they may have a law warning women of the increased risk if they go full term. :D

Yup but the wacko left wingers will push these type of things.

This bill probably has a lot more to do with keeping taxpayer dollars out of the abortion process.

what?

Actually I got it from .. ya know, that news? But at least you didnt try to justify such a ridiculous government overreach.

Yup but the wacko left wingers will push these type of things.

You're right:eek: its all about the evil left wingers! They somehow brainwashed the republican party in Kansas into writing this legislation, simply to make the party look bat-shit crazy.

It's an unenforceable bill.

Plus there ARE studies that indicate some link as well as the studies that claim they are the end-all to the discussion. In this, I am reminded of how salt was a settled cause of hypertension until newer, recent studies showed that it was not an established fact.

Is it not prudent to err on the side of caution?

Can not any woman so advised do her own research?

Did you know that a large percentage of women getting abortions in Kansas are from out-of-state?

This really bothers the people of Kansas.

It's murder...

Why are these women not employing their "free" contraception?

Taking the issue of abortion out of it ...

Do you really want someone legislating the advice your doctor gives you? Even if/when the doctor thinks the "advice" is bogus?

Or worse, do you want the government telling your doctor its ok to hide your serious medical issues from you? And that they cant be held liable for doing so?

I agree, enforcing the "Tell all women seeking abortion that breast cancer is linked to abortion" is really unenforceable, and really if a woman is seeking an abortion, trying to scare her into not getting one wont do very much.

However legislating that its ok for my doctor to lie and hide things from me? And I can't do anything about it? .. that to me is the scariest part of this bill.

10 states are now reviewing "admitting privileges" bills that one Republican Lt. Governor says " is the best chance we've had in years of ending all abortions"

republicans are a cancer on america

If only we could take some treatment that would let us shit the republicans out of our system. I am seriously getting to the point where I might go to believing in capitol punishment, carried out by zimmerman like killers who could stalk and kill republicans where ever they are found.

The country would be so much better off if this assholes would just fucking die.
