It's fair to say there are many poems that aren't very good on this web-site. It's also true there have been some posted through the years that would rival those in any reputable publication.

I'd like to suggest this thread be one where some of those can be re-posted for others to read. While members can do as they please, here are some other suggestions:

1. Don't ID the poet or the poem, just insert a hyperlink such as click here or this. (I think Frost once described poetry as "the discovery of delight.")
2. Don't explain why the poem is a favorite. In that way hopefully the thread will be full of poetry, not commentary.
3. The poet can be anyone, i. e., from the distant past, a regular contributor, a one-time contributor, etc., such that the focus is on the poem, not the personality.
4. If the thread takes off (who knows?) wait a few days before posting another favorite, so that the list created isn't lopsided.

I hope there is some interest because I'm looking to reading poems that I perhaps would otherwise not find.

For one of my favorites: Click here.

Amazingly enough, through all that cum, Literotica does have several good poems.
As for me, (clicky), this is one of my all time favorites.

I don't use the term "genius" easily, but Wicked Eve's poems never cease to amaze me. She writes with economy and yet the world she creates in her poems is seductive and unique.

I completely agree with you Angeline. She taught me things that changed the way I write forever. The way to space words and such. Yes, genius is an appropriate word to describe Eve's poetry.

Remember her Bob series? Didn't you just love those? I was totally humbled when I was bestowed the title of Mule Sister with her. Dead Mule School of southern Literature. I hope her work is still in there but my browser won't let me check right now.

She referred me to that ezine and they helped me edit my poem and then took it. My first published poem, thanks to Eve.

Oh, and You, Miss Angeline, are among those in that genius class. Your "memory" series is among the best poetry I have ever read and I have read a lot of poetry.

I miss you, sis. hugs

Thanks sweet sister. I miss you, too. It's springtime in the mountains, suddenly. My hickory tree is budding and I'll be losing some of my (winter) mountain view in another week or so. Tomorrow I want to take a drive on the parkway because everything is busting out the blossoms. You need to let me know if you're ever going to be around here. I'll bet I could scare up our buddy tungtied for a poets' reunion.

One of the first times I spoke with smithpeter, he told me I should read Eve's poetry. I'm still reading it ten years later! You are both fine dead mules. :D

And this little jewel I copied onto a piece of handmade paper I had and use it as a bookmark. I just love it. Simple. Sweet. Hot.
