New author to Lit

Hey everyone,

I'm new to Lit in terms of membership, but I've been reading, listening, and enjoy for quite some time. I've gone over the story submission sticky, but I'm curious as to how long it takes from submission to acceptance. I'm not in any real hurry or anything as I only write for leisure, it was more of a general inquiry.

Is there an average submission and posting time frame?

Submissions used to be three days, lately it's been running 5-6.

Try to plan it so your piece comes out on a weekday. You get very few views on the weekends.

Also, try to make your titles interesting. That will get you more views once you have gotten out of the 'new' list. After your story is seven days old, the only views you will get is from bots, repeat readers, and those who thought that your story looked interesting after scrolling through the cat.

And unless you are entering a contest, don't expect much in the way of commentary, trolls excepted. If you really are a new author they will try and drive you away. Ignore nastiness.

As Bear was mentioning you get the most mileage in comments from contest entries and you can have a ton of fun in the contest thread...just make sure it's in the Literotica contest thread run by PennLady. You will have a lot of fun interacting with other authors.

Welcome from another newbie.

Hi, only been here a few months and I've found it to be a good experience. As people said, typically five days for a story to go up, but I've had a few go up in four.

I've had good, encouraging feedback but I don't post in Loving Wives, which I understand is brutal. I'm sure other people can tell you what categories are the most welcoming. I have posted in Anal, BDSM, and Interracial with nice feedback and votes.
