SEEKING writers for Old West RP

FYI.

I am constantly updating the OOC thread. If, occasionally, you have a chance to look at it, you'll find lots of interesting stuff, including:

• A page called buildings and businesses, which include pictures of Crossroads.
• That same page with available role ideas, in case anyone wants to take on a PC or NPC.
• Information about Crossroads' history, etc.
• And, most important of all, the profiles of your fellow characters.

I'm fucked! Sorry to be so blunt, but I am losing my Home wifi this Friday and without it I can't continue my group RPs. There is simply too much that has to be done on a computer, stuff that I can't do on my phone as I am now.

So, question is this: do y'all want to continue on with another Host ...in other words, does someone want to be host? I can help someone take over over the next two or three days; or if no one is interested we can let the RP die.

I'm very sorry for this. I use my neighbor's wifi (with her permission) but she is moving and I get no other unlocked signals.

So, I anxiously await your responses.

Well I for one would like to keep the RP going, so if no particular host can step up, why not let us pick a storyline as group and write according to that? Also if we off the expendable characters and work around our "core" group, I'm sure we can keep the thread alive until you find a way to get back?

I would offer to take over as host, but my time will very soon belimited to weekends only posts, so I can't step up

A few things:

• Any of my characters are up for grabs. If you want Sheriff Taylor or Mister McGuire or any of the others, speak up.
• If no one wants any of these major characters, I have plans for the Sheriff at least that I think I can resolve in the Personal Thread he is currently involved in with Evan.
• As for McGuire, I'm sure someone will take him, so I'm going to simply leave him be for now. (He can always be killed off and his daughter -- who you have a writer for already -- can take over the ranch.)
• As far as managing the OOC, it's really not necessary. I am the kind of person who loves a detail OOC, but if y'all come together on a single plot line and work on it, you don't need all of this OOC and personal thread stuff anyway. If y'all want to manage your own Profiles, all you have to do is quote them to a new reply posting and you will be able to edit them when ever you want. (I can show a prospective host all of this using my phone; I just can't do the work from it.)

And again, I am so, so sorry. If there was anything I could do, I would. I considered keeping McGuire going, but I just don't think I could do an adequate enough job just with my phone.

If you are interested, I can show you short cuts to maintaining the OOC. And like I said, it is not at all necessary to be as involved as I am. I'm a little over the top when I host an RP. Let me know.

What kind of phone do you have? Data Plan? Have you rooted it? Do you have the ability to connect it to your PC/Laptop/whatever, and use it to stream your stories?

Just some ideas I am sure you will be able to "research" better then I can explain.

I have a blackberry -- I think it's the Tour -- that's about 5 years old. I tried to figure out a way to connect it to my laptop and easily/quickly transfer text files to and from, but couldn't. (My elaborate OOC thread may make me look tech savvy, buy I'm not.)

But I will look into it some more.

For now what I'm going to do it complete the Personal Threads I'm in now to get them back to the Main IC Thread before I totally lose my wifi and then figure out how all of the writers want to continue onward.

I was going to ask you this, but my brain has been addlered this whole flogging week.

Yes, and I was going to ask the same about Lobo. At the very least Two Shot will recognized him as a fighter/gunslinger, if not know who he is.

But yes, he would know who Murdock is, though there are no warrants in this state for him.

I don't know, how long since Murdock's retirement? I get the feel that Lobo have earned his rep the past two or three years since he isn't that old. So perhaps Murdock will know him, but if not, Lobo is sure to recognize him.

Now that will be a fun RP to write, meeting between Lobo and Murdock

I'd like to do a US Marshall (or deputy marshal) that was hunting down a bank robber, murdering type individual. He finds his gang hideout and gets into a shootout. The main target gets away, but the marshal ends up capturing the second-in-command of the group. He takes the guy to the town where the story is set to hold him in jail until the train can take him back East.

Turns out, the bad dude isn't too far away, and he finds out his buddy is locked up in town. Bad dude shows up to bust buddy out of jail.

I'm thinking there's a lot of other characters that could show up in this small piece of the RP, as well as easily incorporating interactions with the characters already being written.

Only problem with that idea is that the Marshall will have to work along with the Sherif, otherwise you can just write his response into your RP. Your idea is good, but how about the bad guy get more bad guys, you have two famous gunslingers in town who would like to help, even though one is retired and the other looking for a place where he can hang his gunbelt.

Fun part is that the Marshall would know both men and his revelation could bring trouble hunting for Mr Lobo

I'm still here, just hanging back a bit. I need to figure out how to get Ruby back into this, cus she was just about to be introduced to McGuire in the small side thread we had going. I haven't given up on this yet, though.

I got to thinking about a character and I think I came up with something pretty interesting. The owner of the boarding house in town. She's a sharp tongued woman who can gain the respect of the men staying there by keeping their secrets close. She has a rough past and likes to keep the local law out of her business by running a nice, quiet operation. Of course, because of this, she can provide help to outlaws or anyone else that comes along.

Don't know if this goes along with anything, but it's what I came up with. This is my first time writing on this forum, so please let me know if anything is out of line.
