Lit women, stand up (don't lay down) for your rights! Don't fuck so everyone knows you are ready to fight! Read on:

Feminists are declaring a sex strike for Obamacare-subsidized birth control. The group Liberal Ladies Who Lunch is organizing 'Access Denied,' a week-long exercise in self-denial starting April 28.

The strike is supposed to motivate men to stand up for government-funded birth control "because when we lose our reproductive choices, so do they."

I think if "White Trash who Breed" take up the same cause there will be more of a public reaction.

Hmmm. No Lit women have signed up.

Maybe a sex strike for free birth control is too similar to protesting welfare cuts by getting a job.

Aristophanes has a lot to answer for.

Yea....gonna be a bunch of liberal males wondering WTF...at least most of them are educated enough to know/have read/been exposed to the ancient Greek comedies/tragedies though so they have that going for them.

I hope they go on strike until they reach menopause. That achieves two things. One, 100% effective and free birth control for them and two, fewer liberals reproducing.

It's a win-win.

Why is it called "birth control" anyway? Why isn't it called "pregnancy control"? Selecting natural vs. induced vs. Cesarian is "birth control."

Does anyone know why miles keeps calling it "free" birth control? Admittedly I haven't read Douche Notes Today, today, but isn't the issue what is to be provided by insurance companies outside the copay and deductible? Like immunizations, screenings, preventative care...

Those aren't free. You pay for them as part of your monthly premium. My monthly premium is $448 by the way, with a $2,400 a year deductible, for a total cost of $7,776 before Blue Cross spends a dime on me. That's because I don't suck off some hapless employer's teet like you "conservatives" here.

Ask Sandra Fake. She's the one bitching about wanting free birth control.

I think we should hear from some of Sandra's partners. I'd like to know what kind of lay she is. Their silence is deafening.:rose:

Why do you start it on April 28 instead of now?

So you think women get nothing from having sex? I mean you don't think it's more like your loss not to have sex?

Coverage in what? Insurance? And what law prohibits her from buying it?

The fact that buying an individual plan is prohibitively expensive prohibits her from buying it. The reason student health insurance is affordable to students is because 1) it's a group rate with a very large group, and 2) the cost of the plan is subsidized by the school.

On Aetna.com I just got a quote for a single 30 year-old woman with no dependents at the $1900 price point (which is the price of Fluke's Georgetown health insurance plan). The closest one is their PPO 5000 for $1,956 per year. Terms:

$5000 deductible (horrible)
$10,000 out-of-pocket maximum (horrible)
$40 co-payment for to see a family doc (horrible)
$50 co-payment to see a specialist (horrible)
$50 mental health visits (horrible)
$15/$35/$50 pharm co-payment (okay)
$100 ER visit co-payment (horrible)
$0 co-payment for preventative health appointments but co-payments still apply for birth control pills
Ambulance service not covered (horrible)
*** Maternity not covered *** (extra-horrible!)
No dental treatment (horrible)
No allergy treatment (horrible)
No substance abuse treatment (horrible)
No coverage for catastrophic injury

Let's compare that to the Georgetown student health insurance plan, which is $56 cheaper (I'm not mentioning a few items which are identical in both plans but if you care you can look them up).

$0 deductible for student health services, $200 deductible for network care (awesome!!!)
$15 co-pay to see a family doc or specialist
$5 mental health and substance abuse co-payments
$10/$25/$35 prescriptions
20% liability for maternity costs
20% liability for dental treatment
20% liability for ambulance
20% liability for allergy
100% coverage for catastrophic injury

The Aetna plan that's most comparable to Fluke's student health insurance is their most expensive option, the PPO 1500. But the premium on that is $3,276 per year and it still has worse coverage than the student plan.

So as you see, Sandra Fluke cannot just buy a plan off the market in order to obtain birth control coverage because doing so would mean paying a difference that's greater than just paying for her birth control out of pocket.

Even though men might have things well in hand, women, have pillows and other objects to start things off.
