Grayson Calls Lobbyist 'K Street Whore'

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) -- the man best known for saying that the Republican health care plan is for Americans who get to "die quickly," and for calling former Vice President Dick Cheney a vampire with blood dripping from his teeth -- may have gone a bit too far in one of his latest rhetorical excesses, calling lobbyist Linda Robertson, who used to advise Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a "K Street whore."

The comments were made a month ago, when Grayson appeared on the radio show of right-wing talker Alex Jones, and was just discovered and circulated by the NRCC. "Here I am, the only Member of Congress who actually worked as an economist. And she's, this lobbyist, this K Street whore, is trying to teach me about economics," said Grayson.

Grayson spokesman Todd Jurkowski stood by the Congressman's comments, telling the Orlando Sentinel in an e-mail: "She attacked the Congressman and his efforts to promote a Republican bill to audit the Federal Reserve. She actually questioned his understanding of the difference between fiscal and monetary policy. This is [a] person who used to be the chief lobbyist for Enron attacking the intelligence and motives of a Congressman who used to be an economist."

The Politico reports that some of Grayson's House Democratic colleagues are creating some distance from him in light of this. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) called the comment "inappropriate and unfair" to Robertson. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) was more blunt: "Is this news to you that this guy's one fry short of a Happy Meal?"

NRCC spokesman Andy Seré released this statement: "Alan Grayson is a vile and vulgar man whose behavior brings shame to Central Florida on a near-daily basis. His continued insistence on belittling an accomplished woman with such an insulting remark is final confirmation - as if it was needed - that he has no business near the United States Congress or any other position of public trust."

A change of heart by the liberal Democrat with a national reputation for caustic remarks? No chance.

“Dear Lord, thank God I’m a Democrat. And thank God I did not have to vote in the Republican presidential primary,” he told Pinellas County Democrats on Saturday night.

“They’re all a bunch of losers,” he said of the GOP hopefuls.

Walternate Realities, and Alan Grayson Under the Bus


Fox’s Fringe series lives in two universes: Ours, with icy blonde FBI agent Olivia Dunham and more than slightly mad scientist Walter Bishop, is at war with an alternate universe in which Dunham is a feisty redhead and the Walter-nate is the cunning, power mad Secretary of Defense. The other universe is very much like ours, only slightly different. Fringe was a favorite of mine until they spent a season having lead actress Anna Torv imitate Leonard Nemoy. They kind of lost me with that.

But suppose, in that alternate universe, President Barack Obama is a Republican, and former Rep. Alan Grayson is also a Republican. Gas prices are high in both. The mainstream media is the same in both. How would the media treat the story of a Republican former congressman running a red light on his way to a high dollar fundraiser, plowing into a bus and injuring some of its passengers? Probably something like this.


ORLANDO, Fla. — Former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, a Republican, crashed into a Lynx bus in downtown Orlando about noon Saturday.

Grayson was traveling to an upscale fundraising event for his Congressional campaign. Authorities with the Orlando Police Department said the crash happened at Orange Avenue and Livingston Street. Investigators said Grayson was driving a Mercedes, when he ran a red light and hit the bus.

Police and a campaign representative said the Republican Grayson and his Republican passenger were not hurt. Two people aboard the bus claimed they suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. Authorities said the crash is under investigation, and it’s not known yet what type of citation or charges may be filed against the Republican.

One of the passengers noted that Grayson isn’t the only Republican responsible for his injuries. “I had to stop driving and take the bus because of President Obama,” said Stephanie of Orlando, who suffered bruises and a possible strained neck in the crash. “I can’t even afford gas for my car anymore. Now one of the president’s cronies runs a red light in his high dollar car and smashes into my bus. It’s like the whole Republican Party is out to get people like me.”

Stephanie added that thanks to the Republican president’s health care law, she lost her health insurance six months ago. She later lost her delivery job when gas prices forced her employer to cut her position.

The Orlando Police Department website stated the time of the call to the incident was 12:08 p.m. The Orlando Fire Department dispatched the call at 12:06 p.m.Featured guests included the Koch brothers. Both of them. And some other rich Republicans. The suggested contribution for those attending was $1,000.

A Grayson campaign representative said news coverage of the event was not permitted, and no photos, video or information on the event would be provided. Republican. Republican. And Republican.

In our universe, the word “Democrat” doesn’t even appear until the seventh paragraph. And our media didn’t dig up a witness to tie their injuries to the president’s policies.

Comrade Alan Grayson, hero of Occupy Wall Street, narrowly survived an assassination attempt last Saturday when hateful, racist conspirators representing the one-percent, the Koch Brothers and Big Oil sent a large passenger bus filled with hostages thru an intersection just as Grayson was running a red light with his Mercedes. Comrade Grayson was unhurt and two of the bus passengers hostages suffered minor injuries. Police at the scene issued a summons to one of the parties involved and gave it to Grayson to deliver to the proper recipient.

At the time of the attack, Comrade Grayson was on his way to a critical planning session with other high-level strategists, such as Robert F Kennedy Jr and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines, to finalize blueprints to re-take control of the People's House from the Koch-backed Rethuglican Party who stole it in 2010. The villainous Rethuglican traitors have been exposed recently in the People's Media for their amateur attempt to wage war on women by punishing them all with babies. Their secret nefarious plot was exposed and averted only because of a fluke.

It is believed that moles from the far-right organization were working under cover within party headquarters and forwarded Grayson's planned route to the culprits. Unconfirmed reports say these moles were also blackmailing participants at the penthouse fundraiser secret conference, demanding $1000 each to allow them to enter the building. Sources suggest that these agents escaped and are hiding out with the one-armed man who killed OJ Simpson's wife and will undoubtedly never be found.

Grayson survived thanks to the sound protection provided by his GM-built all-electric Mercedes, made possible only because Obama bailed out the auto companies in 2008 after George W. Bush intentionally bankrupted them. He will live on to fight the forces of hate in this mean country.

Comrade Grayson displays the qualities all great leaders must possess: the full-speed-ahead, damn-the-busses, don't-bother-me-with-facts, I've-got-to-get-to-that-thousand-buck-a-plate-fundraiser-before-all-the-hors d'oeuvres-are-gone determination to serve the People no matter what! For that, we salute him. If we had more leaders like Comrade Grayson, eventually we would have less leaders like Comrade Grayson the world would be a different place. For one thing, there would be fewer busses.
