[I don't actually have any particular dislike for Christianity generally, but there's an apparently titanic subset of American Christians who truly get off on the idea of being a persecuted minority, even when they are, in fact, the persecuting majority. {SEE: the Obama-is-a-kenyan-muslim fantasy wankery} But, being as I like making people happy, I thought I'd make this thread so that they could get their natural high]

They're totally lame.

Seriously.

[By the way--pro tip, since there is absolutely no evidence that a god exists at all, and since there are volumes and volumes of evidence that there is definitely no Christian God as outlined by virtually any of the Christian holy books {or the Jewish or Islamic holy books, or Hindu vedas, et cetera} you should probably be satisfied just enjoying your religion and culture yourself, and stop going absolutely apeshit when your church's attempt to use public resources and spaces to proselytize to people who don't believe in your magical sky-man are stymied]

oOooOOooo a cutting edge thread!

Let's do "Bush is a poopy-head" next.

Meh, since there are multiple threads on the front-page consisting of oohhhhhh it's so hard to be a member of the majority religion in the most religiously-inflected country in the Western World, woe is me! stupidity, I thought I would get my jollies. If you don't want to join in, go elsewhere. Shoo! SHOO!

Background noise, a bigot, AND an idiot? You are a GB hat trick, so I think I'll beat the christmas rush and troll iggy you now.

"Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll to to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money! - George Carlin

ya notice how atheists love to run around yelling there is no God. i always wonder are they trying to convince the listener or themselves.

Lack of evidence is not evidence.

No, but there is a great deal of evidence that the events depicted in the various holy books did not occur. The existence of a being or beings not in our physical universe is ultimately unprovable, up or down, but Christianity makes specific claims about a specific being that is in the physical universe, and has done certain things. These claims are demonstrably untrue.

Hence why I specifically said:

"there is absolutely no evidence that a god exists at all, and since there are volumes and volumes of evidence that there is definitely no Christian God as outlined by virtually any of the Christian holy books"

What the fuck are you talking about? You're babbling.

If ya don't like 'em, don't associate with 'em. Problem solved....

See how simple that is?

That virtually all religious dogmas are demonstrably untrue; if they make you happy, enjoy, but that publicly proclaiming your belief in Invisible Sky Man Version 6.782 as the One Immortal Truth is probably unwise.

Convince yourself that that's babble if you prefer.

The proofs of the existence, or lack of existence, of a god universally have nothing to do with any form of scripture. There is a major convention in almost all religions referred to as "truth claims" that requires a certain wilingness to believe. But at exactly the same time and in exactly the same magnitude, there is absolutely no proof that a god does not exist. And more human cultures of the most disparate kinds have a form of spirituality of some kind than those who do not. Not a proof by any means, but the fact remains: whether or not a god exists, you live in a world that seems to think one does. Get used to it.

1) Define for me what a god is, and I'll direct you to either compelling proof it doesn't exist, or a demonstration that it's an empty claim--a nothingburger.

2) Overwhelmingly, nearly every culture prior to the modern age had slavery. Very, very disparate cultures had slavery. Whether slavery should exist or not, circa 1810, you live in a world that thinks it should. Get used to it. Ah, the argument from popularity. Gotta love it.

3) Spirituality and a belief in the supernatural are not coterminal ideas.

4) Christianity does not claim that "a" god exists. The claim it makes is that a very specific god-man exists, and did certain things on certain dates in history.

His original post is ignorant.

Christianity in WHITE America is dying. All demographic studies suggest this.

Catholicism is only keeping it's nose above water due to the wave of Hispanic immigration. By 2020, 50% of all Catholics in America will be of Hispanic origin.:rose:

We don't do it for convincing, we do it for trolling...you should see the look on your average Jesus addict's face when you look them in the eye and say "I don't believe in a god...the entire concept of it is absolutely absurd."

Thankfully.... Christianity may be dying (fist pump) it is still the overwhelming majority :)( ) so his post is still valid. =P

Why are you against Chrisianity, what about moslums, hindus, jews and I'd even call athetisum a religon if not a following.

If you hate Christians aren't you the same as a racist.

What do you beleive in, I'm sure I could find pleanty of fualts with what ever it is including if it's nothing at all.

Face it you're going to die. your an insingnificant nothing but so am I in the long term picture of it all.

The sun will super nova and there will be nothing left of this planet but a burnt up core of a rock.

So basicaly what ever you beleive doesn't mean dick.

So fuck you and let people beleive in what they want are they realy hurting you.

Actually, Christianity is most strong in black America.

36% of black Americans attend church weekly.

44% of black Americans pray daily.

As a share of the overall US adult population, Christians declined from 86% in 1990 to 76% in 2008.

For all those people who hate Christianity, you forget that America was founded on it. The Decleration of Independence and all granting us rights from the Creator. We are becoming a nation where nothing binds us together while we champion a utopian view of diversity. There is no precedent in history for a successful society that is multiracial, multicultural, multilingual or multiethnic. The melting pot doesn't exist anymore. If you study history you see failure with racial, religious and ethnic diversity tearing nations apart. It doesn't work. We're in trouble.

not being funny here but... is he really hurting you by voicing his opinion on what he believes? you could ignore this thread and let him live his life (until he goes to hell & shit).

That's funny considering your apparent dislike of black people. Go Jesus!!!
