The Construction Thread

Thor, I didn't say I understood what the fuck I just typed, but in the company I was with last night, and after 3 black and tans, you could have landed a plane on the part in their hair after it flew over the top.

I totally got what he said.

I rule!

Also, Thor, we've gone up to 30% flyash now. Huge money savings for the Kiss! Yes!

Post-tensioning makes the floors thinner, which means you can sneak an extra floor in under the height restrictions.

:cool:I hated being an engineer in the Navy. Hated it.

"How do people define engineers? "The term "engineer" is used as a catchall, but it doesn't convey the broad list of tasks and fields we must cover to solve that problem," writes TJ McDermott, senior project engineer at Systems Interface. "We're the multi-talented, multi-skilled tool used to solve problems -- society's Swiss Army knife.""

This explains so much. Also explains why I'd never want to add that PE to my name.

I'll wait until I have someone else to do it, then snap a pic.

My sister is a civil engineer. She used to go crazy at how the title 'engineer' was included with those who do not have a degree in engineering. I think it was more about how she would be lead on a project and in essence not given the respect due on a site.

eh, whatever.
