Follow up: so who have you met from Lit? Who would you like to meet?

8.

No sex.

I'd like to meet Terry Gilliam and Alex de la Iglesia. If either of you guys are here, PM me!

None that I know of.

You, I'd like to meet. Just Pet, too. And AJ, DCL, KRC, kbate, etc. There are quite a few from here that I'd love to meet in person.

I've been thinking about Raindancer a lot this weekend since Friday was her wedding day. Patient1 and I have met her and her ex several times. I don't know the new guy, but really hope it works for her. She deserves happiness and is a great person. Just as nice in person as on the GB. Congratulations, Raindancer.

Speaking of patient1, is there anyone at Lit who DOESN'T know I met him here? Must be a newbie if there is.

We met puppyman (can't spell that name to save my soul but you old timers know his av) and his wife at Disney several years ago. Both great people and we had a wonderful dinner. Now if I could only get them to come back the same time we are there...

Haven't seen Lukkyknight (sp?) in years, but we did patronize his business back on our visits to Minnesota. I hope he's doing well, too.

I've done jewelry business with a Litster that I've never met in person, but he has my credit card info. Does that count?

I've met a few others who don't post here anymore. Most were great, we met for dinner and talked about our real lives (and a bit about the board.) Everyone I met I'd meet again except the one person who was stinky and very unkept. I think he did that on purpose though, just to see my reaction. I was as gracious as I am to any other dinner guest. But he won't be invited again.

I used to be a regular at the TX Littogethers. Met a bunch of folk, some who flew in from far, far away. It's been awhile since I've met anyone new from Lit offline.

Several Lit folks have become good friends, though I don't see them as often as I'd like. I've even had five come to my semi-annual fish camp gatherings with my non-Lit friends, including one that's become a regular there.

Fish camp? And you never invited ME? Humph.

Thinking about it, I've not had a single bad experience meeting people from Lit. (Though there was that dude in Toronto whom I told to fuck off... but I wasn't there to meet him. I forgot his name/handle.) Some were 100% platonic meetings, and some most certainly were not. Almost all were in conjunction with my business trips with a couple of exceptions such as a vacation :)heart: you know who you are, that was a great week; I think I'll go search for those of threads you wrote about me at the time), or a random flight to NC simply to go bar hopping.

I'd like to meet Miles, for 10 minutes, in a locked room.
I'm sure we could work out all our disagreements face-to-face.

Something wicked in me makes me want to sponsor such an event.

But you would both have to sign releases so that the video could be placed in the public domain and posted on Youtube.

Obviously, you'd both have to put up some deposits for plane fare and hotel accommodations in case one of you backed out on the deal.

That video would be boring. Rob would be spouting witticisms and laughing arrogantly and miles would be standing facing a corner with his hands over his ears going "Lalalalalalalalala..."

It's possible, but I say, let's find out if that's really what happens.

Set up a pay pal account.

I'm sure folks would love to help sponsor this event.
