Is Walmart a cross-section of America?

I appreciate your comments. But really, frozen meals? You have kids? If not, what will do feed than when you do?

I buy lots of stuff on Amazon. @$79/year for 2-day shipping, it gives Walmart a run for its money.

Not just the low income shop at Walmart. the point of my post is all in the OP. Thread diverged a bit, but that only happened when some people tried not t blame the fatties for being fat.

And finally, did you not know that it is okay to be biased against the fatties? When Gov. Christie was "thinking" about running, the Left jump all over his weight, and made fun of him for being fat. While I am not biased, I have made observations. And I can tell you that fat people are fat because they do not care enough to lose weight.

No, it's not okay to be "biased against the fatties". It's not okay to make fun of anyone for any physical characteristic. It's childish, mean, and hateful. If the point of your thread was to make fun of fat people, why did you bother to bring Walmart into it? Just make a thread "I don't like fat people". Keep it simple stupid principle.

If you want to discount a whole lot of people because they are fat, I can't stop you. But I can feel sorry for your narrow, stuck up view of the world. You think you're better than others because you're thin. I could care less what you look like - I find you to be a shallow, mean-spirited child based on what you think and say, not the size of your body. They say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, or disparage someone till you've walked a mile in their shoes. Imagine how much harder that mile would be if you are overweight, worried about paying your rent and providing for your children and your future, and are being laughed at and called names by thin, rich, obnoxious people driving by in their BMW's, splashing you with mud. I'd rather be fat than be so hateful to others.

Again, I appreciate your comments. But it must be OKAY to be biased agant fatties in the US. Why do I make that statement? Because Gov. Christie was harpooned (pun intended) by the left for being FAT. No one stood you for him in the Media. No Lefties here in GB stood up for him. It's a dirty little secret that fatties and uglies are discriminated against.

As for me, my observations w.r.t. Walmart shoppers stands as it is. There are more fatties there than other stores.

The worst part if the adult fatties have fat kids. That's child abuse.

Let me see if I have this straight here: you're opining that because SOME people ridiculed ONE public figure for being overweight, it's logical that ALL people should ridicule ALL folks who are overweight.

Herpa Derpa DERP!

No, I am opining in this thread about the type of people that shop Walmart. I only threw in the Christie example to prove a point to a poster that people discriminate against fatties, and the public accepts.

But the discrimination angle against fatties is not my focus in this thread.

But my point is that I am eating the same "tainted" food supply as the fatties, and I am not fat. It goes way beyond what is healthy or unhealthy w.r.t. the food supply. Maybe farm-raised salmon is not as hearty, etc. Or maybe free range chickens fed with organic feed are more healthy than chickens from a different farm.

But at the end of the day, it really comes down to the number of calories consumed vs calories burned. Mathematically, it's a simple equation. I do take exception that I am "lucky." That statement dismisses out of hand my commitment not to be fat.

While there are many reasons why someone can be overweight, I stand by my statement that they have to care enough to lose weight in order to lose weight (assuming there is no medical condition for their weight).

Thats not really true. Just like, for example, you can lift all the weights you want, but you may never look like Arnold Swartznegger (in his prime). Everyone is different. Our bodies react differently to foods, digestion, etc., even if we ate the same portions.

Anyway, you have your beliefs, go get a bag of Doritos

FYI WALMART is getting its ass whipped by low end discounters that have taken root.

A while back the fools in Bensonville got the idea to do what Studebaker did in the 50s, screw a PACKARD name plate on a POS Studebaker. Both became extinct.

I ate a 1/2 bag of potato chips with onion dip last night.

Back to weight loss, do not get caught u in the minutia. Of course everyone is different. People have different metabolism rates, and that affects weight loss. But I have never met anyone that could not lose weight my reducing portions, and exercising (again, assuming there is no medical condition for the weight).
