Limbaugh's not dead, but he's taking a drubbing.

Jesus. I'm almost ready to hug you all.

It hasn't been a good week for the fringe right.
Of course, that's good news for America as a whole! :)

Calling women who use birth control sluts and whores is a winning strategy. Good going Republicans.

When a basketball team thinks your a dick, you seriously are a DICK!

No doubt about it, Limbaugh will be off the air in two weeks.
Maybe the enormously popular Keith Olbermann will take his place.

Seriously, wtf was he thinking?

Especially since she says she wants to not get cancer. Which... is something he should have looked into. Cancer's a buzzword. I mean, it was bad enough, but calling someone campaigning against cancer a slut is a death sentence.

So this is what, the thousandth time Limbaugh has said or done something that would supposedly ruin his career? Why in the world would the people who listen to him suddenly stop now if they didn't before?

Lines are only just beginning to be drawn in the cement...

Exactly. His fans will stick by him regardless. And he's made the news again - it's been a number of years since he's really ranked this high in the headlines. The man is an entertainer; a story like this gives him longevity in the long term.

It doesn't matter if his fans listen to him if he loses enough sponsors. I doubt he will lose that many but it wouldn't matter if everybody on the planet tuned in no station would carry a man that can't get sponsored cus that's how they get paid. The EIB doesn't put the Rush Limbaugh show on the air to please the Dittoheads. They do it for the money.

He will lose sponsors in the short term, but a year from now everyone will have forgotten about this and it won't matter. Sponsors will return, right now they are just showboating and riding the free publicity they get by announcing that they are pulling their ads. Advertisers knew exactly what they were getting when they bought into his show, and right now a few are milking it for all it's worth.

The sponsors are for his target audience. He doesn't get sponsors that target liberals or people who listen to Howard Stern. He will lose a couple that panic but that's it. If the people don't leave there's no reason for the sponsors to.

I don't care about sponsorships. I just care about adding another bullet to the "Limbaugh the Asshole" list to hold against the jackasses who say they're a fan of his.

It's fun.

This is what happened to Beck on FOX.

If he can keep sponsors. That's where the money comes from. People are getting tired of paying an old man to say crazy shit. Specifically,
Autozone and Sleep Comfort are getting tired of paying for it. That makes sense, because you can see that for free on the old man bench conveniently located outside of each and every Wal-Mart scattered across this great nation. I've never heard his show, because my generation has this new thing- it's like radio, but with pictures- but every time I hear about him, it's over him losing a new sponsor. Pretty soon, no one is going to pay for him anymore.

You must be quite young, as that would explain your extreme naïveté. Rush Limbaugh isn't going anywhere. Set alert to check this thread in a year and you will see that I am right.

Seriously, who the fuck are these companies?

Select Comfort, which advertises its Sleep Number brand bed, was the second company to sever ties with Limbaugh over the growing controversy. Sleep Train was the first to sever ties. It sent a message out on Twitter earlier today, telling consumers, "We are pulling our ads with Rush Limbaugh and appreciate the community's feedback."

How many people read this and googled the companies? How much free press are they getting by pulling ads?

You are being manipulated, kiddo.

He looks at least as old as Yoda. In a year it won't matter. He'll be dead.

I assume Rush will manage to keep enough sponsors to stay on the air. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon and even if he did someone would eventually fill that spot anyway. I'm completely unsure if you're joking about who the fuck Autozone and Sleep Comfort are, especially Autozone.

Hey Drixxy, you love to believe what you want to believe....

What the fuck are you talking about? That doesn't even make sense.

I figured you wouldn't understand. Connecting the dots is not one of your strong points.

Is anybody who's not GC following his line of thought here?

Uhhh, Rory, just want to let you know I'm one of the assholes who listens to Limbaugh when I can.
