Another "Late night crew" thread

A police department in a nearby town is holding a raffle to raise money for needed police equipment. The prizes? Assault rifles and hand guns.

Anyone else think this is a wee bit odd?

exceptionally painful.

But they will mend.

it would help if I would a) take a day off or b) not ride. and yet, neither of those have occurred.
That was the hardest thing for me. Giving a ribcage a day off is the same thing as "doing nothing including breathing."

I wish my local cops would do that. How much are tickets? I'll send you the cash.

Odd? Unfortunately not. Scary? yes.

exactly. And if I'm walking, talking, song stuff...might as well be walking, talking, and working!

Should I go to Doublehead overnight this Thursday and cope with snow and clouds or should I wait until next week when it's supposed to be clearer?

I find it rather akin to a bank raffling off ski masks and preprinted hold-up notes to raise funds for new security cameras.

Nah. They're not giving unregistered guns away to criminals. They're raffling registered ones to law abiding police-supporting types. Those are the people who should have guns.

typo. doing stuff, not song stuff.

I don't convalesce well. I know...cover your shock and surprise.

I understand; the "i" on my keyboard is right next to the "d" also.

I never would have guessed. Hey, how physically demanding is it to drive a horse? Is it like, aerobic exercise?

word son

(although maybe "police-supporting" is a bit strong. how about "peaceful and police-tolerating")

I think if you give the cops money, you're supporting them. Even if you give them money in return for a small chance of getting a gun out of the deal.

I don't have a problem with the goose gun they're raffling off. After all, this is a town of about 25,000, surrounded by rural areas. It's the hand guns and assault rifles that give me pause.

It was a serious question.

But, looking at your list, I have to wonder if in shoveling snow without a horse today I burned more or fewer calories than I would have with one.

Hand guns work great for making holes in cardboard zombies when you're bored, and they do a nice job of discouraging criminals. There's really no such thing as an "assault rifle," though. It's a phrase invented to demonize certain guns. I'm no rabid gun nut, but that really is just propaganda.

well in all seriousness...yes it is strenuous exercise. Especially if you are actively riding and training, not just a passenger. Signing up for a trail ride and putting your penny in the pony does not an equestrian make.

You're supposed to put money in them? Which part?
