Heft
-Fastway
I just think that first 45sec is some of the heaviest shit I’ve ever heard. The patience it has - in being heavy – is glorious. That’s a 12” fucking cock being lugged around.
So let’s call it “Heft”.
Perfect.
Suitable song for the rest of it. And a real nice close as well.
Dial it up on Spotify,
HAVE SUM!!
[It also has some history with me…
This comes from the Soundtrack for Trick or Treat (cheesy 80’s horror film that the entirety of this album is absolutely perfect for). That film was written by an older brother of a dude I used to spend all my days with back in High School. Older dude walked in on us wasted, fingering Blizzard of Oz backwards one night (we weren’t taking it all that seriously, so relax. No devil worship here.) At the time he was near graduating from UCLA with the absolute intention of being a screenwriter. And we gave him his idea (according to my buddy).
So right out of the box he sells a Spec. First attempt. Win.
Next attempt was 976-EVIL. And I got an early copy of that. I remember reading it and thinking, ‘I understand this format. I understand why it’s laid out like this, and written with this particular approach. I can SEE it. I understand this’
And that never let go of me until I finally penned my own in ’99.
I’m on my 4th attempt now (following a period of nothingness). And I will win.]
