This is how rich people and Conservatives treat the working class

I eat out a lot and in very nice restaurants, especially when I travel. It is not uncommon for waiters to assume they are getting 20% no matter what, and then to treat me with neglect if not down right contempt. Once I was the last person seated for dinner service and the waiter was horrible to me because he thought he'd be leaving early that night. My tip on the $80 bill? $0.01, and I wrote him a little note that in the future he should treat his customers with respect. He threw a shit fit for having to stay an hour late for essentially no pay. Hope he learned his lesson. Shitty service = shitty tip.

I need to hear the banker's side of the story before I condemn him.

Just perusing the blog that fired this while thread up brings several questions to mind.

The person that started the blog states that there were only 2 eating lunch that day. That may be true, but both of them must be real pigs to run up that tab. The eatery in question is essentially an upscale diner serving trendy, 'healthful', pretentious concoctions. It was obviously lunch based on the time stamp and the most expensive item on their lunch menu is $20. The tab reflects more like a lunch for 3 pigs, or 4 to 5 diners with average appetites.

The individual goes on to rant about the boss in a manner that leads one to believe that they're probably in the wrong occupation themselves. (And after starting that blog may not be employed too much longer anyway.)

This little item seems to be getting further from passing the 'smell test' as more questions come to mind.

No, the tab reflects two meals and a bottle of wine. Standard business lunch for two. I have spent that much many, many times.

I did my share of serving and busboy duty once upon a time. My ma was a waitress. Yo job is to keep everyone contented, and that means doing battle in the kitchen, too.

About 90 quid for two lunches and a bottle of wine in a proper restaurant and you think it's too expensive? LMAO, stick to Micky D's, Ishy.

blah blah blah...I really have no money so I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about because I work at McD's

It is all a write-off anyway. But you wouldn't know that would you?

I actually suspect this thing is bullshit. When I have had lunch or dinner with superiors, as the photographer has done, when the superior is ready to leave, we leave. I have never told a superior, "you go ahead, I'll be along in a minute" in order to examine the check. It's a lunch, when the boss says its time to get back to work, you take your ass back to work. How did this underling have the chance to take the picture? Furthermore, why is the table so clean? It would be moderately clean as the server would decrumb the table after removing lunch plates (in order to try to sell dessert) but it wouldn't be spotless like the pic. It's bullshit. Maybe the waitress really got stiffed by someone, but the original story is false.

BS it is. Here is the original receipt:

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/actual-receipt-from-restaurant-hoax-879234
A spokesperson for True Food Kitchen today provided TSG with the above copy of the credit card receipt from the Newport Beach eatery’s business records. The February 16 receipt is the “Guest Copy,” while the one used in the hoax is the “Merchant Copy,” indicating that the scammer sought to make it appear that the altered receipt had actually been left behind at the restaurant.

In an e-mail, restaurant spokesperson Jami Reagan noted, "The guest took the merchant copy but completed and signed the guest copy."
