Spring comes early to my part of the world and so we usually start to see the signs in mid-to-late February. Two signs, for me, that Spring is around the corner:

The Academy Awards--not because they have anything to do with nature, but Oscar night parties that happen in my family always include early spring foods like strawberry pie. So my first "taste" of spring is usually Oscar night.

The Pigeon Mating Dance--See link. A sure sign of spring imminent appearance, for me, is seeing the male pigeons puffing themselves up and doing their "hey-baby-check-it-out!" dance for the females. I saw one such today and thought "Spring is near!"

Round me lately it has been the fights between Blackbirds and the preliminary nesting of Rooks and stuff.
When's a good time to trim the roses ?

Erm. In the Washington, DC area [at least inside the Beltway {I-495/I-95} and east of the mountains], we've essentially gone straight from Fall to Spring. No Winter at all, 'tall, 'tall. No measurable snow. Daytime temperatures more towards the 40s/50s/60s/70s [we've had more in the 70s than I ever remember in 35 winters here since 1956] than the teens/20s/30s. Flowers are totally confused and have been blooming willy-nilly.

If it weren't for the NFL Playoffs and the Super Bowl, I'd have totally forgotten it was Winter. [That NBA lockout and Xmas start didn't help any, either.]

Last night I heard birds chirping down in the backyard garden.
It was very brief and wonderful and filled me with joy.

Today I smelled Spring in the air. A sweet softness that makes me a little dizzy.

So yes - Spring is just around the corner in Denmark.

We have one particular bird, that slave_ calls the blaise bird due to its unique and loud call, that migrates in the winter and returns of course in the spring. We just heard it for the first time this week. I love that sound.

Yep, it snowed here last Sunday. Predicted to be 71 next Sunday.

My neighbors daffodils are blooming, started last week and some are in full trumpet now heralding the coming spring!

I'm from minnesota. For us our seasons are almost winter, winter, still winter, and road work season.

Kidding, but really, there will be no spring until at least the end of march. However, this has been a freakishly warm winter, with never more then a few inches of snow before they melt. Maybe we can look forward to a bright and early spring this year.

And maybe if I wish hard enough I will close my eyes tight and jump my way to the moon.

I spent three days hanging upside down and standing on a ladder pruning the wisterias. Now they are budding out strongly and in another week will be a mass of purple. Spring hath sprung.
