Shopping Spree Purchases?

I'm writing a story about two women who investigate having a D/s relationship. The Dom goes to an adult bookstore and, having no experience with that sort of relationship, buys a handful of items that she then takes home.

My query is this... I've never gone binge shopping for BDSM supplies, and I've never even been inside an adult bookstore. I imagine she would get padded handcuffs, blindfolds, maybe a ballgag. Definitely some sort of paddle. Is there anything else I should include in the initial grab-bag of goodies before they decide what they like?

Ah, I can't believe I forgot the strap-on! The kitty ears sound good... will definitely have to include that. I also think that she'll eventually make a little bed on the floor in front of her bed for the pet to curl up, but that won't be in her first round of purchases. Thank you for the help!

Ooo, anything for realism! The pet introduced the idea to her new owner, and her new owner is finding herself VERY interested in it. More like realizing she'd wanted it all along more than being forced into it by anyone. But it's a very mutual exploration.

I like the idea of slave in my bed. I'd say reserve sleeping on the floor if/when pet misbehaves. If pet misbehaves bring her to the edge several times without allowing her to orgasm then sleep on the floor tied so she can't touch herself.
