kids with cheaparse, crappy cars (fiestas or somesuch) who put on huge spoilers, roaring exhaust pipes, thousands worth of speakers?

...well i bought this crappy little netbook. rather than just buy a decent laptop to replace this one, i bought a little netbook. yesterday, by post, arrived a new battery that weighs more than it does. soon there will be speakers. then i'm thinking about spending more on a new hard drive than the netbook itself cost.

i do not know why. it makes no sense. but...

this thread is going nowhere. i just felt like confessing how moronic i'm being. and asking if they make strip lights to go around the edge of netbooks.

i do that. i buy cheap crap and then i end up spending more money on the damn thing to make it prettier.

you know what you can get for it? a set of dice to hang off it.

Heh... A few yrs ago, I bought one of the first gen netbooks that came out.
HP. Tiny little thing, I think it has a 9 inch screen.
Thung is, that little netbook is still going strong (much to the amazement if my computer-geek son) and it does everything I need it to do.
I haven't upgraded it in any way, just added some peripherals like a disc drive and printer.
I did add some stickers to the cover... frogs, as I'm frog mad.

Now I do most things on my tablet, but for those times when you need a keyboard and extra capabilities - for example, resizing pictures, etc. - the netbook serves.

It's almost time to think about a new one. I might stick with another netbook, as it's handy because of it's size.

Funny that you mention this. I just got home from shopping and one of those cars was parked outside my apartment. I didn't recognise it. Two youths had carwash stuff all over the sidewalk. "This is not a good sign" thought I to myself. Now, of course, they're blasting bass music on the pumpin' system in the trunk and it's rattling my windowpanes.

shake your walking stick at him.

My friend gave me his net book that wouldn't load windows. I got the windows boot files from dell and put a really nice ssd drive in the little bugger, to replace the corrupt spindle drive.. The hard drive was worth twice what the net book sold for. I also added a gig of ram made it it a pretty fast little notebook. It was stolen out of my work van one week later.
