Not that the discovery of Grace's (cough) extracurricular activities says anything in particular about people with her political views, but someone was asking about why we haven't heard from certain people yet. You know for a fact that if she had been vocally liberal, not only would the wingnuts be all over this thread and their own daily circle-jerk threads gloating about her "downfall," but her politics would be widely cited as a reason why she broke the law to begin with.

Her attraction to the "lock 'em up and throw away the key" branch of American politics is more than a little ironic in retrospect.

Everyone knows that if she had different politics, the reaction would be a lot different. Don't pretend otherwise; it just makes you look stupid...er.

I gotta come clean on this. I am probably equally guilty of that. If the criminal actions had been the actions of a Litster with whom I shared the same political views or personally liked, I would have a lot less invested (for lack of a better word) in the whole exposure of her criminal history. And it really was her racial politics that forced me to dislike her (or, more accurately, probably my own distaste for those particular racial politics). I suppose the difference for me is that I don't blame her political leanings for her criminal past or her behavior. Politics really have no part in that equation, in my view. Republicans and Democrats alike can do horrible things they regret. Equally. Or at least, I hope they show regret. Here's hopin'

I agree in particular with what I highlighted. And I didn't even dislike her as a person or a poster, despite those impossible-to-defend comments. She's a talented writer, and my default stance is to regard people with writing ability as good board additions aside from their politics. (That talent probably goes a long way to explaining her apparent unhealthy attraction to message boards--look at how many posts she made here in a brief period of time--but that's another issue.)

Those who flirted with her openly, or even harbored a crush on her that they kept to themselves...well, sucks to be them today.
