Have you seen these tyres?

Michelin are apparently bringing these out in August.
Has anyone here used the tyres, specifically army types as they've apparently been tested by the army for a year now?
I'm curious as to how the ride feels with these.

Those things are gonna bring tonnes of snow and/or mud into the garage.

I don't know but I am sure that some of the Rednecks around here can fuck them up!

Fuck you.

My post stands.

Why, because you don't understand it?
It's not something they just suddenly came up with. It's been around a while and now they're into a serious testing phase. They wouldn't be in this phase if they didn't at least have promise. It's incredibly stupid to dismiss it.
Being different isn't always bad.

Avoid those pot holes, for they are not a good thing, with low rubber.

The wheel acts as a shock absorber. Great fuel economy with hard rubber ride.

Good aftermarket wheel? Who knows. The wheel is going to flex side to side as well as up and down, to some degree. How well the original suspension works with the new wheel design could be questionable.

But does the Army really care about how well it works with the brakes?

Is this what the tire actually looks like on the car, or is this a cutaway view of the inside of the tire?

I saw these on a tv program. Very interesting. The military likes the idea, no air, no blowouts.

I'm sure there is going to be a lot of tweaking of the technology, but I think it could be just as good as our current tires. Which weren't so great when they first came out, either.

It will probably be a while before the price comes down to anything reasonable.

But pair it with that new shock absorber that uses magnetized fluid, and I think you would have a very acceptable ride.

That's what the tire actually looks like. The spokes are shock absorbers and the tire has no air.

Someone made a comment about them looking like bicycle tires. I wouldn't mind them for my bicycle. No pumping up the tires before riding, no flats en route, and a smoother ride. Yeah, I'm in.
