Sometimes it works, depends on what you're looking for and what the other person does/doesn't work. I'd say just tread carefully if you're opening is just a simple "Hello" and you've not bothered trying to look for some common ground.

Personally, a simple "hello" usually gets a simple "hello" back.

As a guy, I don't get those PM's. But they crack me up to hear about them. One of you should start a thread where you report stupid PM's so the rest of us can enjoy the dumbness.

Edit: I was wrong! I do get stupid PM's from guys apparently! I just checked mine and there's one from last night asking if if I want to get my pussy licked. Like the screen name "Friendly GUY" wasn't a hint?

I tried to place a link to the IM/PM thread but the tags didn't stick, so I have to edit and resubmit with a pretty little note attached so the bots will reject the edit and shoot it to a live editor, who will make the decision whether or not to include the necessary tags.

They're called the Asshat threads. Scroll back a page or two on HT and you should find it. If not, click on Ed's profile (silverwhisper) and find it under threads started by...
